Between You and Success

obstacles to success

There are going to be a lot of obstacles between yourself and business success. Some of these will be self-made; others, financial, and still others will be the people around you.

The best advice I can offer you is this, don’t listen to them (even if it’s yourself) there will always be people telling you what you can’t do in life. Have you ever noticed that there are a lot more people ready to tell you what you can’t do, than there are to tell you that you can? Strange isn’t it?

If you’ve ever sought out advice regarding business, which I’m sure most of you have, you’ll no doubt have come across a few common denominators regarding that advice. Many people who are already successful, and are taking the time to offer up advice on how you too can be, all share some key ideas. Here are just a few.

1. Surround yourself with likeminded people

Now this doesn’t mean you have to stop hanging out with friends and family, but as far as business is concerned it’s important to develop a network of peers who are serious about working toward the same types of goals you are. These people will be going through the same issues, and seeking out answers to them. Once in a while they will be ready and waiting with answers to questions you have because they themselves have just gone through it recently.

2. Don’t give up! Don’t ever give up!

~ Achievement seems to be connected with action. Successful men and women keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit. ~ Conrad Hilton of Hilton Hotels

~ Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent. ~ Marilyn vos Savant who happens to be a very smart lady.

3. Set goals

Setting goals and writing them out along with what steps are necessary to get you to those goals has always and will always continue to be an important step in your success journey. It is by knowing where you are going that you usually arrive.

Perseverance, and stubbornness are going to have to be your constant companion throughout the start-up of your blogging business, and will most likely have to be kept up right up until the point you achieve the successes you are looking for whether they be financial, or personal. Jack Canfield who is a well-known author of the ultra-popular book series “Chicken Soup for The Soul” belongs to a group with me, and recently posted an article titled “Never Give Up! The Power of Determination” and that is just about the best advice anyone could give you in regards to building your business.

Here is something to help keep you going when things are looking bleak, and the people who surround you, and are most likely your friends, family, or colleagues are telling you how dumb your idea is, or how it can’t work, etc. I want you to remember this. If it were easy, we’d all be doing it. Now think about that for a minute will you. If starting up and reaching the goals that you’ve personally set in front of you were easy, just imagine how many more people would have already achieved it. The market would probably be saturated. It is all this hard work you are pouring into your business that will not only support you and your family, but keep you separated from those who will later wish that they could have what you have.

Let’s fast forward two or three years to the point where your business becomes successful, and you are literally making tens of thousands of dollars each month with just a few hours a day commitment toward fulfilling your obligations. Perhaps a blog post, a little customer service, dealing with your outsource team etc. I mean who wouldn’t want to be in your shoes then? Two hours of work for ten, twenty, thirty thousand dollars a month? In some cases much, much more?

Sounds impossible you say? Tell that to those who are doing it!
