Why Every Blogger Should Utilize Youtube

Why Every Blogger Should Utilize Youtube

How often do you watch videos on Youtube? If you are like most people, then you will watch at least 1 Youtube video each week.

Did you know that Youtube is the second largest search engine in the world, behind their parent company Google? This is what a lot of people don’t realize and the reason this is important is because when somebody does a search on Google the chances of a Youtube video popping up are much more likely. Think about it, why wouldn’t Google take advantage of this and send more traffic from their site to their second biggest site?

This is why every blogger should utilize Youtube.

Another reason why every blogger should utilize Youtube is because people love videos. One of the things that people hate doing is sitting in front of the computer reading a bunch of articles all the time. If it were up to you what would you rather do, would you rather watch a video of read an article?

My guess is that you would rather watch a Youtube video.

I am not saying that you need to abandon articles altogether but it would make a huge difference if you switched from pure content to articles and videos. The nice thing about mixing it up is that you will be able to offer things to both content lovers and video enthusiasts. As you probably already know, there are a lot of people that you need to cater to as a blog owner and that is why mixing things up will only help you, not harm you.

Why Youtube Videos Rock

Did you know that the reason people don’t like to read content is because they don’t like to take action? Reading involves taking time to actively look at the words and read them. This is where Youtube tops content. If you have a blog visitor that doesn’t really want to read the blog then they just click off the website, it is that simple.

Now with Youtube the visitor will have to stop the video and then click off of it. Being that there is more involved in reading an article, more and more people are starting to love videos more and more. I am not saying that content is dead, content is still the king of the internet but when accompanied by a video there is not holding you back.

One thing that I highly recommend to anybody that wants to take their blog to the next level is to include Youtube videos into their posts. If you don’t want to create your own videos, then you don’t have to, just embed one that is already online. Now I would suggest creating your own video but it is not a requirement.

As you can see, there are many benefits to utilizing Youtube on your blog and because of that I highly recommend it.

Bonus: Not only does Youtube give you the opportunity to get a bunch more traffic to your website, it will also pass link juice to your site as well and that is how you move up on the search engines quickly.

Infobarrel and Its Benefit To Affiliate Marketers

Are you an affiliate marketer who is tired of not making any money? Roughly 97% of all affiliate marketers make less than $100 per month and the reason they do is because they are not using the tools provided to them.

What am I talking about?

I am talking about Hubpages, Squidoo, WordPress, Youtube and Infobarrel. Being that most people have heard of the first 4, I am going to focus on Infobarrel and how it benefits affiliate marketers. Before I get into more detail about how you can make money quickly and easily with Infobarrel, I first want to tell you a little bit about it.

Benefits Of Infobarrel

• Infobarrel is an up and coming website, similar to Hubpages that allows you to get paid for the Adsense ad impressions as well as any affiliate sales you make. The best part about Infobarrel is that you make 75% of all Adsense ad impressions rather than 50% like most other revenue sharing sites offer.
• Not only do you have the opportunity to make money directly from the page, you can also provide an affiliate link in the content as well. With Infobarrel they give you up to 2 in content links along 3 other side links. The benefit of this is that you can simply point your Infobarrel traffic to one of your websites, affiliate’s or simply another one of your Infobarrel articles.
• If you want to make money, then using a trusted website is how this can be done. Infobarrel is a website that has been around for a little while and is getting a lot of praise for their expert authors and their valuable community. Having this behind you as an affiliate marketer is very important and that is why I highly recommend you use Infobarrel for any article marketing needs.

Now that you know a little about Infobarrel, I want to show you a couple tricks to make more money as an affiliate marketer. The first thing that you need to do is very simple, you have to sign up for infobarrel and start writing.

What do I write about?

Write about what you know – many people have heard this, yet most people totally ignore it altogether. Something that you need to understand is that if you don’t have a grasp on what you are writing, then it will be almost impossible for the reader to feel a connection and actually buy whatever it is that you recommend. Not only that, it will be much easier for you to write about something that you know as opposed to doing research and then writing an article.

Once you have a topic that you want to write about, you need to do keyword research. If you don’t know how important keyword research is, then you should first learn that because affiliate marketing is much simpler with that skill set. I am not saying that you won’t make money without knowing anything about keyword research, but if you ask anybody in the industry they will tell you that with proper keyword research you will be able to work less and make more.

So as you can see, Infobarrel is a great place to turn to as an affiliate marketer but you have to start writing. The trick to making money is very simple, write a great article based on a low competition keyword, add a couple affiliate links and then repeat the process.

If you need any more help I am here to help, just add a comment below and I will do the best that I can to get you on your way.

How To Market Internet Videos For Your Online Marketing Strategies

How To Market Internet Videos For Your Online Marketing Strategies

Online marketers have been looking to Internet video lately to spice up their marketing mix, but how do you actually market Internet videos? Do you need to pay for a ‘Promoted Video’ status on YouTube? Do you need to fork out thousands of pounds to advertise on ‘On Demand’ Television programs? Or are there much simpler and affordable ways to market Internet videos?

The following article tackles how brands, businesses and bloggers of all niches and sizes can market Internet videos for their online marketing strategies effectively and cheaply.

Use Internet Videos Search Engine Optimisation Power
The biggest way to make an Internet video successful is by getting online users to see it, and the only way to do so, is to allow your video to be found quickly and easily. How you do this all comes down to getting your Internet video ranked highly in the search engine results.

For this you’ll need to start thinking about the two biggest search engines on the web today; Google and YouTube. Since Google’s introduction of the Universal Search in 2007, YouTube videos have been able to impact the Page 1 search engine results on Google rather well. What this means is, while YouTube is the number two search engine, its video content can impact Page 1 of Google, which gives you a great reason to focus your Search Engine Optimisation strategies on YouTube.

To use the full power of YouTube’s SEO you’ll need to first and foremost upload your video to YouTube. When using YouTube always give your videos Tags, Descriptions and Titles that contain your keywords and phrases. Uploading Closed Captions (Transcripts) can also provide very SEO friendly text data that can help bring your videos up in the search engine results.

For those users who don’t like the idea of using any platform other than their website, you can embed YouTube videos onto your own site, and still generate a great deal of SEO value. The secret to generating Internet video SEO power when you’re embedding video content, is to make use of Sitemaps. When you submit as Sitemap of your embedded video content you are basically telling Google that your video content is on that particular webpage in order for Google to flag it up in its search results.

Harness The Power Of Social Media
Marketing Internet video doesn’t have to cost the earth, and in fact one of the cheapest ways to do so is actually the most powerful. Social medias are online platforms that can give any piece of video content the chance to be enjoyed by an almost limitless audience, and generate real viral potential.

So how do you marketing effectively on social medias? Each social media website be it Twitter, Google+ or LinkedIn have different audiences to engage, and different marketing opportunities to use, but here is a breakdown of some of the best practices to use for Internet marketing video productions on social media platforms:

Twitter: That pesky blue bird is hard platform to crack. Unlike other social media platforms Twitter won’t bring up a video thumbnail, which means you only have your Tweet and your hyperlink to catch your Followers eye. The best way to make the most of this is to make your Tweets as persuasive, curious and engaging as possible. Also it’s always good to contact individual Followers through @’s and Direct Messages to build up relationships with your Followers. The reason for this is so when your Tweet does grace their Newsfeeds they will be sure to take notice of it, and to take some form of action towards it.

Facebook: Facebook may be causing a few stirs for better and for worse with its recent changes, but it is fundamentally one of the best social media platforms for marketing there is. Facebook offers great sharing opportunities; it allows you to post your content to Pages, Groups and individuals interested in your niche. There are far more avenues to build relationships on Facebook than on any other with Wall posting, Liking, Messages, Video Chats, Tagging etc, which can help make you more visible as a user, get your content receiving more interaction, and gain you more Subscribers.

Google+: Without causing too much of a stir, it must be said that Google+ is an awful lot like Facebook, but with one huge marketing advantage. Google+ offers what can be deemed as sector specific marketing opportunities. They may be known universally as ‘Circles’, but let’s think outside the box. By organising your contacts into these Circles you can take specific marketing approaches for each Circle community, in order to market your Internet video effectively in each Circle. This means you can express and covey yourself, your brand and your business in particular ways to particular individuals, which is a very powerful tool to have at your disposal.

LinkedIn: LinkedIn is very much a professional social media affair, and as such you should use it to approach key figures in your niche and converse with influential thought leaders. There aren’t many LinkedIn users who promote their own content in their status updates, but Groups and Discussions are known to make use of them for particular purposes. The Connections you make on LinkedIn will help you to get your video content shared by users other social media profiles, be it Twitter, Facebook or Google+.

YouTube & Vimeo: Never forget, video hosting sites like YouTube and Vimeo are also video sharing sites. This means the video content they host was born to be shared and interacted with. Both sites offer the opportunity of Commenting and Liking content, and allow for users to communicate with one another in a variety of ways. Use these social abilities to your advantage to help get your content more and more interaction, and perhaps even gain those powerful social media shares.

Utilise The Power Of Video Tracking
The success of an Internet video marketing strategy can only ever be determined by the goals it has set out to achieve. Tracking the performance of an Internet video campaign is essential to the entire process of implementing an online marketing strategy. Whether you’re tracking social media growth, website traffic generation or merely just video views, all such factors need to be measured throughout the duration of your online marketing campaign.

Here are some fantastic ways to keep an eye on the performance of your Internet video:

Hoot Suite & Facebook Insight: Facebook Insight costs nothing to implement, all you need to have is a Page for your brand, business or blog. Once you’ve set up a Page you can track everything from how many Likes it has to how many users are talking about you on the Facebook site. Hoot Suite on the other hand, doesn’t come free, but it does collect a lot more data. Hoot Suite forms the home-hub of all your social media data, whether you’re on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc, and lets you post status updates on any profile from the platform too.

Google Analytics: Google Analytics is perhaps the best free tool out there for monitoring website traffic, keyword performance and conversion rates. Although there is a Premium package available, small companies won’t ever need to go any further than the traditional free model. Google Analytics will inform you if your video is generating any traffic, where your videos Internet placement is having the biggest effect i.e. on your website or on your YouTube Channel, and how many viewers actually converted into sales leads. It’s a very powerful free tool to use if your campaign is very sales driven.

YouTube Insight & Tube Mogul: If you are determining the success of your Internet video marketing strategy by viewership, than free tools like YouTube Insight and Tube Mogul are perfect. Such tools allow you to track your views, discover at what point in your videos users are turning your content off, where in the world your video is being seen, and how much attention is being given to your video content. These types of data are great for tracking brand awareness, which is essential for creating an online presence for any bloggers, business or brand.

Summary
¬There you have it, your essential guide to marketing Internet video in your online marketing strategies. By nailing all three areas, from making your content easy to find, marketing it on the most popular platforms and monitoring its success, you’ll be sure to be well on your way to marketing your Internet video successfully and cheaply on the web.

Is Twiends Dead?

twiends

With a slow launch back in December of 2009, Twiends started to see an explosive growth in both traffic and users in March of 2010. The explosion of traffic had people of all social networks flocking to join in order to expand their social reach, as well as their social networks.

Marketers and individuals alike could choose to offer credits in the form of seeds (I’m assuming one of the larger social sites took offence at the word credits) in exchange for other users to do any one of the following:

  1. Follow them on Twitter
  2. “Like” their fan page on Facebook
  3. Watch their video on YouTube
  4. Visit their website for a predetermined time

Users were able to build up their credits by also participating in the above activities or buy purchasing them directly from the website for upwards of $599.95 for 50,000 seeds. With 50,000 seeds you could reasonably expect to grow your twitter followers (or fans, hits, views) by about five to ten thousand.

  • 50,000 seeds paying out 5 seeds and accounting for the 30% drop rate most users are experiencing would result in 7,000 followers on Twitter, “likes” on Facebook, hits on your site, or views on your video.

2011 wasn’t a great year for Twiends, it seems it signaled the beginning of the end, and while they are still struggling to find something for all those users to do, it simply doesn’t appear to be the reality.

2011 saw Google step in and shut them down as far as the website tab was concerned. Google penalized them for facilitating what in its eyes was nothing more than a service that could potentially get millions of AdSense accounts banned for using their traffic. (Goes against Google’s Terms of Service)

June 17th saw the removal of the Facebook features after Facebook banned them from continuing to use the API needed for them to continue. I think it was at this point that many users started to realize that the Twiends experience was coming to a close. There was a noticeable drop in traffic following this event.

Less than a month later, on July 11th users who logged in quickly noticed that there was another missing tab in the navigational panel. After 24 hours where users were unable to post in the support forum regarding the issue, Twiends issued this statement:

“Hi all, we unfortunately had to remove seeds from the YouTube feature. We’ll have an update on the issue next week. Thanks for your understanding. Dave”

While it’s unclear why they lost this latest tab and feature (Google does own YouTube) this will likely be the final straw for users, and unless they are able to quickly find another viral method  for growing something that doesn’t include Facebook, YouTube, or Google they will most likely fizzle out into a shadow of their former selves.

Surprisingly Twitter who is always quick to ban developers from using their API in a way that they deem against the “user experience” has left Twiends alone to their own devices. I suppose now that they are the only feature left, Twitter may start to pay a little more attention to them, and if they take their cue from Google and Facebook, we could see the end of them all together!

Twiends for Twitter

Stronger together

I wrote a few weeks ago about using Twiends to grow your social network, and allow you choose between either growing your Fan page, YouTube channel, or Twitter followers. Quite of you took advantage of it right away and started to grow your networks, but I had a few people say they didn’t think that it would work.

They were of the opinion that since I already had 20,000 followers on Twitter that I was using that number to influence my review of Twiends. Fair enough, here are my growth stats for the last month.

On March 28th I had exactly 20,848 people following me on Twitter and if you check my stats I’ve had around 20,000 for some time now. Fast forward a month to today and you’ll see I now have 29,330 followers and a prediction for 38,695 in the course of another 30 days if I continue with this rate of growth.

Now personally I’d of been happy with 1000 or so new followers in a month’s time, but I’m not going to say no to this kind of growth. Having a large audience is usually a benefit in my industry.

twitter statistics

It’s important to note that I’ve also never paid more than 2 credits for a follower, so my growth while consistent is still likely lower than what other could expect. I have two monitors so I usually have the second one open to their site, and I’ll watch the YouTube video’s and build up credits that way.

You can also choose the fast route of purchasing credits to use; it all depends on whether you have more time than money, or more money than time. Me, I have lots of time and it’s easy to build credits while I’m working on my primary monitor.

If having a large social network is something that is important to you or your business, I’d definitely recommend signing up for free account, and taking advantage of the millions of other users networking on there.

One word of caution though, if you follow back everyone who follows you I’d suspend that while you are using the service. Unfortunately with anything like this system there will always be spammers, and fake accounts and I’ve noticed more than my fair share. Since I’m paying for the follow I don’t really feel obligated to follow back anyway unless they are someone I’d normally follow and interact with.

For free Twiends credits you can sign up to their newsletter and receive 50 free credits.

See you there!

The Very Powerful Social Media Today

The Power of Social Media

I’m sure most of you know what social media is, and what it can do for your business, but are you aware of just how powerful it is? At no other time in history has the voice of individuals been so loud and broadcast so far. Until recently the only voices that could reach millions were those of giant corporations with monthly ad budgets the size of my mortgage!

Unfortunately that balance of power put the consumer at a distinct disadvantage and left them without a voice. Because of this many larger corporations took advantage of individuals and steamrollered over them if they had a complaint or concern regardless of whether or not it was justified. I’m sure you’ve all heard the stories, or most likely have a few of your own.

I remember my cell phone provider when I was going to college sending me monthly bills for $35.00 and me paying them, until one month they sent one for several hundred dollars. $623.89 to be exact! Now I knew this had to be a mistake, and after calling them and finding out it was for internet usage on my wireless phone (which didn’t have the capability at the time) I knew I would be able to explain and get it straightened out. I was wrong! Despite the fact that the telephone I had at the time could not connect to the internet they assured me the charges would stay until I paid them. They were wrong, my credit took a hit, and we both moved on, but I knew then that life wasn’t always going to be fair.

When a company gets so large that the individual ceases to be important things can only go from bad to worse, and prior to social media, and social networks the only recourse left to the individual was to try and spread the poor customer service story manually via word of mouth, which as you can imagine wouldn’t be all that effective, nor damaging enough for the company to take notice of.

In 2008 there happened to be a folk musician and his band travelling to Nebraska, and ended up having to land in Chicago for a quick turnaround. Sitting on the plane while the passengers started to disembark he heard a lady cry out from behind that they (baggage handlers) were throwing guitars! Sure enough looking out they saw their luggage being mistreated, and later went on to discover that a $3500 custom made Taylor guitar was badly damaged to the tune of about $1500.00!

Dave Carroll, then spent the next nine months in a back and forth battle with United Airlines while they tried to shuffle him from department to department until finally he was told to simply stop emailing them, and that they weren’t going to compensate him for his broken guitar.

He then decided to write three songs about his experience with the airline, and posted the first one to YouTube on July 6th 2009, and quickly garnered over 150,000 views in just a matter of a day or so. As you can imagine United (finally) then stepped up to try and do the right thing out of self-interest and seeing that this particular individual did indeed have a voice by offering compensation which to my knowledge was not accepted and the video was kept online, and the two subsequent videos were later released.

It’s important to note that that single video has now received over ten million views, and garnered the attention of the media worldwide, and will no doubt influence the decision of thousands of individuals thinking of flying that particular airline, especially if they have something of value to carry along with them.

I can only hope that going forward larger corporations and business enterprises will pay a little bit more attention to the voice of the individuals who make up the bulk of those same companies. In actual fact it will likely take many more such stories to have the desired effect, but seeing how the average Joe can now reach out and be heard by literally thousands of people almost instantaneously I’m hoping that day won’t be too far forward.

I myself am just a regular guy who works out of his home, has a handful of friends and very little family to speak of, but I have the ability to write a single blog post and once I hit that publish button it is seen by close to 50,000 people within 24 hours, and that number continues to get larger each day that passes.

Now it isn’t just bad news, or bad customer service that travels fast. Good customer service can easily be talked or blogged about spreading with the same intensity, and to the same audience. I think that it is this fact that will make a very significant change in the way big businesses do their business!

Now we can all take a lesson from Dave’s United story, and apply it to our own businesses. Next time you are making a decision that could impact one of your customers negatively consider the fact that the repercussions could spread far and wide, resulting in not only lost revenue, but also lost reputation for you and your company.

Instead take the time to find and offer a solution to those who might be negatively affected by a decision you’ve decided to make that impacts them in what they perceive to be a negative way. This might be something as simple as acknowledging them and listening to them and why it is they are frustrated, or it could mean issuing a refund and offering to let them keep a product for free. The important thing is that they (the customer) are leaving with a good impression of both you and the policies you have chosen to reflect your small, medium, or even large business.

20 Tips for Branding Yourself

Brand yourself

Whether you’re a fully established business, or a newly started online business it’s important to start branding your company right from the beginning in order to maximize the results that you and your business will start to see over time. I’m going to share some of my ideas and methods below that I use, as well as a few I’ve yet to implement.
1. Use the name you wish to brand in your domain name whenever possible, if you wish you brand yourself as an individual, don’t be afraid to register yourname.com, just be aware if you do build it up into a million dollar business and wish to sell, it will be harder to do if it’s branded to yourself.

2. Spend the money on getting yourself a decent logo; have you ever taken a look at some of the better logo’s that are around? There are some amazingly simple, yet astounding images that have been created for companies around the globe that embody the spirit and name of certain companies.

3. Create a Twitter account, and either design a custom background for it, or have one created for you, remember to incorporate your logo, or “brand” into all graphics that you put out whenever possible to achieve consistency, and promote brand awareness. Notice that my website, Twitter account, Facebook fan page, eBooks, banners, etc. are all branded to my company. This way over time people will start to associate these images with me, and my business or website.

4. Sponsor a WordPress theme, or plugin and make it available to people on the web, have you ever seen themes that included a footer that said “made possible by” or “Sponsored by”, not only is the name of the company or website on hundreds or thousands of these templates, but there is also a link back to their website which provides them with additional SEO benefit as well.

5. Build, or outsource a piece of software or productivity tool and have it branded with your company name then offer it to users. There are thousands of software sites that will carry your software and offer it to their visitors for download. Again, these software sites (which are usually very high traffic sites) will provide a link back to the website that produces the software which again will provide you with additional SEO benefits.

6. Create a signature in your email to promote your website or company. I have my name, company with a brief description as well as an invitation to follow us on Twitter. I’m not sure how many people have visited my site due to emails I’ve sent out, or how many followers I’ve gained by it, but I can tell you it’s more than if I didn’t utilize it.

7. If you’re an internet marketer you are most likely capturing email addresses and building a subscriber list in order to market to them. Rather than send out the generic text emails, try branding your emails. I’ve designed my emails to look like my website, complete with a header graphic, links and again, an invitation to follow me on Twitter. Are you starting to see a trend yet? Every form of communication media that I use is branded in such a way as to promote my companies assets.

8. Set yourself up as the expert in your field. This will keep people coming back time, and time again for your tips, and information and they will start to associate you and your brand with one of the industry leaders that they can turn to for advice on the different topics that you cover. Now being the expert in your market will require a dedicated consistency to learning as much about your topic as you possibly can, but if it’s something that you are passionate about then it shouldn’t be an issue.

9. Fill in applicable fields like your forum signature, or Skype, MSN, anything that will allow you to enter text to describe you to an audience. Don’t just limit yourself to your name (unless that is what you are branding).

10. Brand your YouTube account so that you maintain a consistent image on there also. YouTube is currently ranked the third highest traffic website on the internet, if you aren’t already on there, get over there and set up an account and make yourself available to the audience over there also. It’s all about placing yourself and your company or website in front of as many people as possible.

11. Article marketing, write articles on your topics and publish them on high traffic article directories with a resource box that points back to your website. This will also help set you up as an expert in your chosen niche.

12. Comment on related blogs, and make sure to add value to the discussion so that people will be encouraged to click through to your site, where you can then hopefully convert them into loyal readers.

13. Brand and release reports on topics in your industry, offer them for free on your website as well as availing them to other site owners to offer up to their readers. If I write a blog post about affiliate networks, and you’ve given me a report discussing the top 20 networks I’ll be more than happy to include it in my post. This gives your site a much wider reach than it might normally have because now my readers have the option of downloading and reading your branded report.

14. Take it a step further and write an eBook that solves a problem or teaches readers how to accomplish something. This will again set you up as an expert in your field, and will provide you with another branding opportunity. If you’ve downloaded my eBook E-Business; “The Insider’s Edge” you’ve noticed that the book is branded with both my header as well as links at the bottom of each page where the reader can visit my site directly. There are thousands of copies of my eBook out there promoting my business while helping people at the same time.

15. Create and brand your own products. This will provide you with more branding opportunities, and more importantly an income source for you and your site.

16. Use press releases to announce upcoming product launches, or other newsworthy events that your company experiences. This will help get your name out in front of a national audience in a very short time. It is not uncommon for thirty or forty thousand people or more to read your release in just a matter of a few days. That’s a pretty big audience by anyone’s standards.

17. Have banners created to promote your brand or website, and strategically place them on other sites in your industry. You can take part in banner exchange programs to maximize your exposure and open yourself up to new audiences and readers that frequent other blogs or websites in your niche.

18. Create an avatar to represent your brand so that when you comment or post on the internet you are again leaving behind something recognizable for people to see and associate with you and your brand.

19. Create a favicon for your website to set yourself apart from other websites. If you look through your bookmarks you’ll easily see sites that you recognize just from their favicon.

20. Brand yourself offline as well as online, have your business cards and stationary reflect the image that you are trying to build online. Make sure any collateral you send out has not only your contact information and website address, but also your logo as well.

These are just a few methods that you can use to start building brand recognition and setting yourself apart from others in your market. Building a brand is an ongoing process and will continue for as long as you own your business. Make sure you have a program in place that not only promotes your brand, but protects it also. Keep one ear to the ground so that you can deal with any issues or problems that occur as soon as they take place. There is nothing worse than stumbling over a post that slams your company because someone sent you an email addressing some issue they had with your product or service only to have it slip through the cracks and never be dealt with by you or your team.

Social Media and Business

Social Media

In today’s world, businesses are realizing more and more the role that social media is playing in in the lives of people, and in the choices they make. It used to be that we were bombarded by advertising, and commercials telling us about brand x and why we should buy it, but in today’s society we can turn to a vast network of contacts and see what is being said about brand x, or any other brand for that matter. Are you more likely to consider a cell phone provider based on the fact that they spend seven million dollars each month to attract and retain customers? Or would the recommendation of several of your close friends or colleagues carry more weight regardless of whether it was positive or negative to the product?

Television, radio, and print ads once created are permanent and cannot be altered, however changes online can be seen and heard almost immediately and are more fluid in nature. If a product comes out, and is raved about by the company and others, but experiences issues with safety, the world will know almost immediately through editing, advisory warnings, or even just comments that are left on social networking sites or blogs related to that product.

Timing is another emerging trend that can be found in social media, where we relied on newspapers and television networks to “Break” current events, and news, it is now becoming more and more common for events to spread first through social media, and networks long before the newspapers have a chance to publish, or even television producers to air information about it. Any witness with an IPhone or mobile device can easily be the first to announce situations as they occur.

It’s important for businesses to recognize this paradigm shift, and to factor it into their business model in order to not be left behind wondering just what happened, and how. Social media is an important aspect of any business regardless of size, product, or geographic location.

Implementing a social media strategy can be as simple as launching a Facebook fan page, and responding to issues that customers post. Setting up a Twitter account, and Tweeting about your business, promotions as well as helpful advice related to your particular industry is another great way to stay connected to a global audience on a daily basis. Some companies go so far as to setup Google Alerts using their company name (I know I do), and whenever a topic comes up on a blog or website anywhere in the world, I can personally respond to both praise or criticism. This is also a powerful method of protecting and promoting your brand, and it shows the people who are interested in discussing your brand, that you actually care about what is said online about it.

YouTube marketing is not a new phenomenon by any means, yet how many of you actually have gone to the trouble to have a video or short commercial created in order to promote your brand, business or simply an individual product? The cost of a 60 second video is generally under $200.00 and is within most budgets, and provides you with just one more avenue of exposure.

Whichever route you decide on, or how in depth you decide to take your social media campaign I highly recommend you at least implement one, and start to develop and grow it over time. You won’t regret it!

Making Money with YouTube – How to Do It

Make Money With YouTube
Many people believe that making money with YouTube can only be done if you’re a partner. However, this is not the only way. To start, you will need a YouTube account, as well as internet access. You will also need a video camera or a webcam, a Blogger account and subscribers to your accounts. Start out by creating your YouTube account if you don’t already have one. People who have the most subscribed lists are able to make a lot of money. They are promoted by YouTube and can capitalize on their videos.

You do not have to be one of these people in order to enjoy making money with YouTube. Look at the videos that have been posted lately by the most famous people on YouTube, and respond accordingly within the comments for that video. This may get you to be a favorite of the person who posted the video. After finding these videos, make a video about these videos, since people will search for videos related to these. This will get you a good base of views. Once you have this, you can start working on a blog. People subscribed to your YouTube account will notice that you have a blog and likely want to support you.

In order to start making money with YouTube, you can start a free blog or post a blog on your own personal website. Add Google Ad-Sense so that you will have ads for your blog. This will be your income, and you get paid per click. After setting up your ads, be sure to post in your blog and update often. Make a video response to another popular video, and add the link to your blog this time. Talk about the video, but don’t give the viewers all of the information about them. Have them click the link if they want to learn more about it.

To keep making money with YouTube, continue to promote your personal blog in your videos. The more people that visit your blog, the more likely they are to click on your ads, which will add to your revenue. Be sure to keep your content interesting, and updated frequently so that people will come back to see your new updates. This will also give you credibility among your viewers and readers. It’s possible that you may start seeing revenue as soon as the first day you put your blog up and recommend that people come to see it.

How fast you start making money with YouTube may depend on how fast the list of your subscribers begins to grow. You can earn up to thousands of dollars every month. In addition to this, you can apply for partnership with YouTube. To do this, you must have at least 500 subscribers. Ad-Sense should also be put up next to your videos. If you are denied partnership, you will still be making money with YouTube, so you will not be at a loss. You can also reapply for partnership at a later date.

Using YouTube To Promote your Website

You TubeI read a report recently from Forrester Research (one of the largest business analyst firms in the world) that a video on YouTube is 50x more likely to be ranked on the first page of Google than any other site.

Not only that, but when you consider that YouTube is the default site for watching online videos, the default site for large media corporations to post their videos to and the default site most people upload their videos to (can you even name any other video sites?), you get an idea of how powerful YouTube can be to send traffic to your site.

The great thing about YouTube is that you don’t need an Avatar style budget to get people watching your videos. All you need is a web cam and something to say. It does help that what you’ve got to say is related to the niche you are trying to target though!

One successful approach I’ve seen is an SEO company created weekly videos where they presented a case study on a client and discussed what they had to do to rank the site. The videos are so informative that people feel compelled to share them on their blogs and on forums, directing other people interested in SEO to view the videos.

The result is that these 5 minute videos of just one guy speaking to the camera are an incredible hit and the SEO firm is taking in loads of new orders because on every video there is a watermark with their website address (cemper.com if you are curious). You could even go one step further and have a whole scene with your website URL at the start and the end of the video. If you put it at the end along with a way to contact you then a lot of people will type your address in to their browser bar. Alternatively you could say “Google: [keyword] for more information” – assuming your website is number one of course and there are no bad reviews in the top 10!

You could very well do the exact same thing, take a problem you’ve seen people talk about in your niche, research it to find the answers and then create a video which talks about how people can find a solution to this particular problem. The result will be other websites in your niche will post the videos to their site, and with your domain shown in the watermark, hundreds, if not thousands of people will type it in to their browser and come to your site.

Another great benefit of uploading videos to YouTube is that on your profile page you can enter your website, so if you are getting loads of views, people will click on your profile to find out more about you and click the link to your site.

If you are not excited by the prospect of video and how it can drive free traffic to your site, I’m not sure what else I can do or say to convince you!
