Are You Ready to Become a Professional Blogger

pro blogger

The idea of becoming a professional blogger is extremely appealing to many individuals. It means a welcomed departure from the daily grind of the “9 to 5” work world. Blogging also provides people with a creative outlet to write about the topics they’re passionate about.

But blogging is also hard work that requires specific skills before many can achieve success. Here are some important factors to take into serious consideration before you dive into the world of professional blogging.

Passion

For a successful blog, you’ll need to identify the topics you’re most passionate about and want to share through your writing. These topics must be ones that you can write about weekly, sometimes even daily. I blog about personal finance and credit cards because I’m passionate about the importance of financial literacy. If your passion starts to falter, it will come through in the quality of the posts. So be sure the topics you choose are ones that you’ll want to write about in a long-term capacity.

Time

To make sizable income, you will probably need to have several blogs that you are operating at any given time. Do you have the time in your schedule to keep three, four or even more blogs up to date?

Priorities

As the owner of your blogs, there will be days that you will work around the clock to ensure that the work is done. Think about your other current commitments, whether they’re other jobs, family, friends, hobbies or organizations in which you have membership. Are you willing to make sacrifices in these areas when necessary to ensure your blogs are up-to-date and properly marketed?

Desire to Learn

When you’re a professional blogger, you’re a perpetual student. Web technologies are constantly changing, and you’re going to need to be able to keep up with these changes to ensure your blog is cutting edge, featuring the best and newest capabilities.

You’ll also need to constantly research your blog topics so you can provide your readers with the latest information and trends.

Captivating writing

Blogs require more than great technical writing skills. They also require the ability to infuse personality into your posts. There are literally thousands of blogs to choose from and readers will quickly stray if your posts aren’t written in a fashion that holds their attention.

Ability to Handle Criticism

When you blog, you’re publishing your personal opinions for all to read. It will be impossible to win every reader over, so there are very high chances that you will receive some critical responses to your posts.

If you’re serious about professional blogging, you’ll have to have a thick skin and now how to respond to criticism without offending and losing readers.

Revenue Sources

Before you quite your day job, you’re going to want to have a solid revenue plan in place. This will likely require advertising in your blog.

Or, you can also become a professional blogger by contracting your writing ability out to companies who have blogs they want maintained. If you choose this route, you’ll need to be willing to alter your tone according to their branding standards.

Marketing

So you have a fabulous topic that you’re passionate about and you’ve fine-tuned your voice. Now you have to get readers to your blog. This is where marketing knowledge and a solid strategy will come into play. Before you dive into blogging, you’ll want to do your research and learn how to attract and retain readers.

Networking with Other Online Marketers

network with other marketers

The Internet marketing industry is an isolating career at times. You work from home, usually on solo projects, and except for the occasional forum and chat room participation, you don’t have the opportunity to interact with others.

Some newbie ‘net marketers take it to an extreme level of isolation, never branding their name, watching forum posts from the sidelines, too scared to put themselves out there for judgment in the marketplace.

But networking will help you make big gains as an online marketer.  First and foremost, it helps you brand your name in the marketplace. You’ll always want to participate in the Internet marketing niche, even if it’s not the niche you’re making money with.

The reason for this is because you can find potential Joint Venture partners who are in the same (or a complementary) niche as you. These relationships and bonds you build with other marketers could serve you well in the future.

Within your moneymaking niche, you want to network as well. Always put your sights on someone who’s a step above you on the ladder of success.  This will help you build your own business because you’re catapulting your momentum forward rather than taking a step backward as an unknown.

If at all possible, try to attend Internet marketing seminars and seminars within your niche. You’ll meet people and gain valuable insight that isn’t sold on the ‘net – secrets shared as good friends rather than sold to a general public.

Seminars can help you bounce ideas off of others and generate some new ideas based on what you learn.  It can also help you locate products and services that will help your business.

You might meet graphic designers, freelance writers, or even a so-called “guru” who could give your product or site a mention to his own mega list.  If you attend a seminar, have some business cards ready to hand out to people that include your name, email address, and website.

Get cards from others, too and then follow up on those contacts to remind people of who you are – thanking them if they provided you with any information that helps you on your journey to becoming a successful Internet marketer.

After you attend enough seminars, you may even be asked to be a speaker at one, which is when you’ll be the main focus of the networking party and everyone will be competing for your time and attention.

Setting Up Your Internet Marketing Home Office

Home Office

If you’re new to Internet marketing, you may not yet have everything you need for your home office.  Many people find they work better after they have all of the things they need for their business.  Productivity can really go up if your office is equipped properly – even if it’s nothing more than a laptop and convenient Internet connection.

A computer and Internet connection is the most obvious thing you’ll need.  It doesn’t matter if your computer is a PC or Mac.  Either will work just fine for your marketing efforts.  Just keep in mind that most Internet marketing software is created for the PC, so if you have a Mac, you may need to make sure you can also run Windows programs on it by using a Windows emulator, or installing Windows on your Mac.

Your computer doesn’t have to be a high-end model unless you intend to do a lot of extreme graphics work or video editing.  Most Internet marketing tasks can be accomplished well even on systems that are several years old.

You should probably have a high-speed Internet connection, but if you can’t get one, you can still work just fine.  You might be slower, but you can still accomplish most tasks on a dialup connection.

A few things might be out of your reach on dialup.  For example, you might not be able to do much video marketing if it takes you 12 hours to upload a single 10-minute video.  But for the most part, you can do whatever you need to on dialup until your success takes off and you’re able to upgrade.

You’ll need a comfortable place to work, with an ergonomic chair.  Most people find they’re most productive if they have a clean room with few distractions.  Your work surface should be as clear of clutter as possible. Have folders ready for projects and a place to store and file your receipts and other things you print out.

You don’t have to have a separate office, but you’ll need to make sure you can have a little quiet space if you need it to work.  If you live in a small apartment with a family, you may find it difficult to get any privacy, so a good set of noise-reducing headphones and a good white noise CD or MP3 can really help.  White noise will help block a lot of bothersome noises, and will help you focus on your work.  Music can also work, but it may be too distracting for some people.

Some marketers find it very helpful to have a small refrigerator and microwave in their office area.  This way, you can easily grab food and drinks without breaking your focus too much.  If you only have to walk three feet to grab a soda, your focus won’t be broken as much as it would be if you had to travel downstairs to the kitchen. But at the same time, it’s equally important to take some small breaks to relieve stress and maintain your sanity.

Top 10 Reasons to Work Online

Bryant Park, late Apr 2009 - 21
Creative Commons License photo credit: Ed Yourdon

There are many differences between offline jobs and the online ones that are starting to attract so many people recently. Here I’m going to share a top ten list of reasons why you might want to consider the switch to internet marketing, and perhaps leave that J.O.B. you hate so much. (And yes, I hear the screams of “I love my job” going out at that last sentence, but you’re still here reading this aren’t you?) J

I’ve never done a list in reverse order so, thought I’d switch things up, and be a little different today!

10.          You get to meet a great bunch of people who are likeminded and are busy creating their own little niches in their little corner of the online world. I know you might be thinking of geeks with glasses sitting behind a keyboard and monitor, but trust me there is a diverse world of people out here doing their thing day in and day out from the comfort of their own home, and loving every minute of it.

9.            The freedom to set your own hours. Now if you read yesterday’s post titled “Scheduled Downtime” then you know that you can end up working too little or too much, but having the choice is sure nice, and I have faith that you are serious enough about your business that you’ll work it hard and see it grow. No more cringing when the boss asks you to come in on Saturday, or when he/she waits till the last five minutes of the work day to come ask you to stay late.

8.            Holidays where I used to work were dictated by “the needs of the business” and also by seniority, so that meant there were entire months blacked out each and every year. Now I’m free to leave the city whenever I wish, and don’t have to feel like I’m abandoning my job each time I leave.

7.            No more commute! Need I say more? I used to waste almost 2 hours out of each day driving to and from work. Now that time is spent building my business, cooking dinner for my family or doing something I feel is a valuable use of my time. Now I hate to scare you with numbers but that works out to 20 full days spent commuting each and every year. (Assuming you have 3 weeks of holidays and get all the other recognized holidays off).

8.            Location, location, location! No more stuffy cubicle, you can choose to work from the beach (not recommended), the local coffee shop, a public library, backyard, barnyard, or even train yard! My point is that you can choose to make yourself comfortable at home in an office, or dedicated space, or you can choose to take work on the road with you. I was recently stranded for three days because of car trouble (New Year long weekend) and because I had my laptop, and a WIFI connection, I was able to stay productive despite the unpleasant situation.  Try calling your boss and telling him your car broke down six hours out of the city and you will be working from your hotel room for the next three days, and see how that feels.

9.            The ability to set your own income. Now this one isn’t meant to imply that working online is easy, or that money just flows into your account when working online, it doesn’t. If you want money, you have to work for it, and work hard and smart, but at the end of the day the harder, and smarter you work dictates the income you’ll earn. There are so many income streams available to you online, and this allows you to diversify, and create multiple streams of income which will provide you with a higher level of security that you’d experience with a traditional job that has a single source which is your pay check, or perhaps the residual that you earn from your savings and investments.

10.          And finally number ten, the fact that you are building something of value and substance that is all your own, an asset that will provide for you and your family for the rest of your lives, and if built right for your children, and their children after that. People think nothing of working ten or twenty years building up someone else’s company into a profitable entity that will provide for them and their families, until they decide to finally sell it off. Isn’t it time you started building for your future?

For all of the benefits and rewards that come from working your own business from home, and the fact that I whole heartedly recommend it for anyone with the desire, I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you it is a very serious decision that shouldn’t be entered into without a great deal of thought and consideration.

Invest the time in creating a solid business plan, and set goals that you’ve thoroughly researched. Talk with people already in the niche you’re considering, and don’t be afraid to ask advice. Often they’ve already made mistakes that they can warn you about and found the area’s that deserve the most focus in order to ensure the success of the business.

Can I make Money Blogging?

make money blogging

It seems that no matter where you turn these days there is someone touting a new make money blogging product, and at the rate they are springing up you might be inclined to believe them. I thought I’d write today to share my thoughts on the subject, as well as discuss where I think it’s heading in the future.

Money is great! It helps keep the world moving on a perpetual basis. It promotes creativity and inspires us to try new things to earn more of it. We learn from a very young age the power of money, and what it can (and can’t) buy for us. We also learn that it goes out much easier than it comes in… or does it?

A young girl heads down to the local cell phone store, and within in just a few short minutes is able order her very own telephone number with which to chat and text with her fellow classmates and friends. She also effectively ensures that $50.00 will be deducted from her account for the next three years regularly, like clockwork.

What if you could walk into a store and have them send you $50.00 for the next three years?  Would you be interested in a store like that?

Blogging isn’t really a whole lot different than talking on a telephone, it is a form of communicating, however instead of talking to just one person, you are reaching out to a much larger audience. However unlike a cell phone where the more time you invest into talking on it, the higher your bill will become, with a blog, the more time you invest in it, the more people you will start to reach, and the more money you will make on an ongoing basis.

The first month of this blog’s life saw about 30 visitors a day that came in from my promotional efforts. The total visitor count for that period was 925 and yet I was able to earn $25.00 from Google’s AdSense, and an additional $25.00 from Clickbank for selling a product I had tried and written about. It was at this point that I decided I wanted to do this full time for a living. (I was working in management at a national company here in Canada at the time).

So to answer the title of this post, yes you can make money blogging. Quite easily in fact, however most of you will be like myself and want more. I mean why not, I blog about a topic I love so it is hardly like work, I wake up when I want, sleep when I want, and vacation when I want. (To be honest I still write while I’m vacationing, but I could easily write them ahead of time and schedule them to go out while I’m away if I wanted).

If it’s possible to make $50.00 the very first month, then surely it must be possible to grow that with constant care and attention. So what steps are required in order to grow that into something that you can live off, two thousand, three thousand, ten thousand dollars a month?

Persistence and consistency

If you are going to try and make money through blogging then you’ll have to commit to treating it like a business. You need to devote a portion of your time to it each day, researching and writing posts, finding offers to promote, dealing with guest bloggers, locating advertisers and so much more.  You will also spend a great deal of time promoting it, and driving traffic to it, as well as managing the social media aspect of it, Twitter, Facebook, Comments, etc.

If you truly want to make money blogging, then I’m here to tell you that you truly can do it!

Affiliate Marketing Training

Affiliate Marketing

You read a lot about affiliate marketing, and the benefits of being able to sell right out of the gate so to speak, you can get started selling without the hassle of market research, product development, and launch materials like graphics, sales copy, and websites. But there is still a certain skillset needed in order to make a go of affiliate marketing, and where do you find that training?

You can pick it up online, reading blogs, eBooks, and related materials and then use a trial and error approach, and learn as you go, and typically this has been how many online entrepreneurs have developed their affiliate marketing skills.

Having four of five (or more) affiliate checks coming in at the end of the month, can be a great feeling, and whether you’re treating it like a full time business, and looking to bring in thousands each month, or you just want to dabble in affiliate marketing and bring in a few hundred to make a car payment while you “see how things go” can be another option.

If you’d like to be able to hit the ground running you can pick up a training course called Affiliate Momentum that consists of almost 5 hours of solid affiliate marketing training walking you through each step of the process we call affiliate marketing.

The good thing about Affiliate Marketing though is that it truly is one of the very few businesses that exist where absolutely ANYBODY can start out from scratch and make a decent, full time living in a matter of months, without ANY initial investment!

It doesn’t matter if:

  • You don’t have your own product
  • You don’t have your own website
  • You don’t have a huge list
  • You don’t have any joint venture partners
  • You don’t have a niche

  • You don’t have extra money laying around to get this started

Here’s a hint of what you’re going to receive with Affiliate Momentum

A Few work from Home Tips

work from home tips

I thought I’d jot down a few thoughts I share with many on work ethic. Now definitely keep in mind the purpose of achieving the internet marketing lifestyle isn’t so that you might work long hard hours, but that you build something of substance in order that you might work much less, as well as much smarter in the long run.

Now in the beginning when you’re first starting out in business, or when you first decide to turn your blog into a business, you will have a different learning curve as well as a different earning curve, when it comes to your business. We all have different strengths and weaknesses, and as such will grow and develop at a different rate. The important thing is that you play to your strengths as much as possible, and outsource work that you’re weaker at to people who consider those areas to be their strengths. Ultimately it would even be beneficial to swap your skillsets with someone else’s. If you’re a phenomenal writer, but lack in SEO, then it would be of great benefit to find someone opposite so you can each trade on each other’s skills.

I have a daily tasks list that keeps me on track with what’s important in my business, and will keep me moving forward, as well as being a profitable entity, and I’ve listed out approximately twelve hours’ worth of tasks for myself. Now this doesn’t sound much like the internet marketing lifestyle? No, but I’ve set my goal of earning $10,000 a month with two hours’ worth of work and it’s going to take a lot of work now to achieve that later on down the road. And chances are I may expand my horizons and decide I would like to increase that number or even double it, so I man only cut back to half the hours, who knows?

Here are some helpful tips to keep you productive and on track.

-          Start fresh! Dress for work, eat breakfast, pour your coffee, but be fresh!

-          Know what you’re doing today. It’s a lot easier in the corporate world because you ALWAYS have someone breathing down your neck, or telling you what to do, or what needs doing.  Here you’re the boss, and you need to keep your employee (you) busy, and productive.

-          Use “To do” lists to keep you on track and focused.

-          If you’re working from home, have a quiet, dedicated workspace set apart for your work, and your business. Make it clear this is an “off limits” zone to family members, and when possible close the door to your office if you think you might be interrupted too often.

-          Have the necessary equipment, scanners, cameras, software etc. Don’t scrimp here; this is where you earn your living now. Think of all the commuting fuel you’re saving and indulge yourself in a top quality office chair since you’ll be spending a fair bit of time there!

-          When you can (I know it isn’t always possible) have a schedule of sorts, so you know what a full day equals to in hours, and you know which days you have off.  Helps keep you from burning out also.

-          Be organized, it’s important you can access all hard copy documents, as well as online documents and files when you need them. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to log into a website and not knowing the login info, or having a client ask you about rates for a certain service, but not be able to find the document in question.

-          Keep an idea pad of swipe file so that you can jot down ideas you have, or improvements to some facet of your business, because inspiration strikes us at random moments throughout the day, it’s important to be able to remember them.

-          Forums, social networks, and chat rooms are all a great way of passing the time, but if you find your spending more time socializing than working you may want to designate times for logging in and checking your messages or posts, and making your replies.

Working from home has so many advantages to it, and is something I could never again trade for a commute to an office, where I’d spend my days and years ensuring that someone else was profitable. If your already working from home I’d invite you to leave your comments on the aspects you love or hate about working from home, as well as anything you miss (or would miss) about your regular job.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Warren

Work From Home Efficiently

Work from home office

There are so many benefits to working from home, but it’s important to set yourself up for success from the beginning in order to make your day as productive and efficient as possible. I’m going to go over a few things that help me, and hopefully they will be of some use to you.

Set aside a separate location in your house that is considered your dedicated workspace. It can be a room, an entire basement, or simply a desk in a quiet location in your home, this will help you separate work/life somewhat which isn’t as easy when you commuted 30 minutes to get to the office.

Dress for work, one of the best parts of working from home is the fact that you can work in your pajamas if you like, but I’ve found I’m more productive when I actually get up, shower, and dress casually for work.
Avoid distractions and schedule some break time so that you don’t end up working straight through the day, and on the flipside you don’t want to waste your day doing housework, or worse, watching television, or something else that isn’t productive. Take a break during the day, and head down to the park for a lunch, or just a walk. It’s important to get outside if you can, because people working from home tend to spend long hours in doors as it is.

Have a set schedule that you adhere to, know exactly when you’ll be working, and for how long each day whenever possible in order to keep the line that separates your work and personal life. It’s a lot easier to slide into work late when there’s nobody to hold you accountable, so it’s important that you try to be aware of the fact that while you can show up 30 min, or even 2 hours late, at the end of the day you will still be responsible for getting your work done, and making sure your business was profitable today.

Stay organized and tidy. It isn’t fun coming into work when everything is jumbled and messy, and it makes it harder to be productive. Keep your work area clean and tidy, and figure out the best organizational system that works for you to ensure the data you need is always readily available to you.

Use to do lists, so you know which tasks or projects you’d like to accomplish each day. I typically have a list of about 20 items each day, and if I don’t accomplish one or two, I carry them forward a day. I also have a goal board where I list the goals I want to accomplish in the current month, these are typically larger projects. Lists will help ensure that you accomplish the maximum each day that you’re at work.

Invest in tools that will increase your productivity or will help you to automate tasks. This will be different items for each business, but for me I needed a big desk, with two computers, two laser printers (color and B&W), scanner, fax machine, telephone, office supplies, white boards and cork boards, and one of the most important but often overlooked items that I needed… a comfortable office chair, don’t pinch pennies here, you’re going to be sitting in that chair anywhere from 2 to 20 hours at times (you know what I’m talking about) and you might as well be as comfortable as you can. Another worthwhile investment if you happen to work on your computer a lot is a gel filled mouse pad, and an ergonomic keyboard.

Work from Home Tips

Work from home tips

Working from home offers a ton of advantages for individuals willing to give it a try. Those that have, say that they could never go back to working at a traditional job, and all the ones I’ve spoken with are much happier for it.

Working from home does require a different set of rules though in order for you to be as productive and profitable as you can, and let’s face it one of the scariest parts of working from home is the lack of job security and knowing that there is a paycheck coming at the end of the week.

I’m going to address of few of the things I’ve come across in my own life, and hopefully some of them will benefit you as well, after all my success comes with your success, so let’s make you as successful as possible and make sure you have as many tools at your disposal as possible.

Dressing the part
Sure I can go to work in my pajama’s or sans pants even, but just because I can doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. Find yourself a comfortable style of dress that is casual without being a cause of embarrassment when you join in on a video chat.  It’s still important that you feel like a business owner, and not like someone who is unemployed, trust me it will feel better, and make you more productive because of it.

Be organized
one of the strongest assets that you can build for yourself and your business is organization. Remember that the only limit set for your business is you and you’re thinking. Are you building a $50,000 a year business, A $50,000 a month business perhaps? The level of organization that you have with your business will be directly reflected in the amount that you can earn with it. Make sure your workspace is clean and uncluttered and that you have your files sorted in such a way as to always be accessible. Try to structure your business in such a way that if you bring people onboard you can give them access to the required data without too much trouble.

Be professional
You, your website, sales material, literature, business cards, will all speak to the level of professionalism that people can expect from you. Remember, perception is reality!
People who visit your site, and are convinced by what they see, and take that action that you desire, whether it be a sale, a phone call, or other inquiry expect that when they commit to you and your business, that you will do the same in return. Therefor it’s important to make the sale of follow up timely, and professional. Remember this may just be the first transaction of many that you will do with this customer; make sure they leave feeling that they received value for their money, and appreciation for their business.

Be committed
If you aren’t willing to invest the time and energy into seeing your business succeed then who will?
I guarantee that it will most likely take a fair bit of work on your part to grow your business to the level that you’re looking for. During this time you will question many of your decisions and even question the soundness of your idea, but if you give up and quit I guarantee your business will fail. Keep going, in fact when you feel like quitting that is when you should double your efforts and forge ahead even harder. You will come up against roadblocks and detours, go through them, or go around them but whatever you do, do not stop!

Set goals
I can’t stress how important it is for you to have a clear idea of what you think success will look like. It doesn’t even have to be entirely accurate, you will come to find that some goals you set were unrealistic and others you will surpass easily. It’s alright to keep it flexible, and as you come to know your business you will modify what success looks like to you, this document will change over time and you will come to realize that this is part of what keeps your business moving forward.
After you have a clear idea of what it is you wish to achieve write out the steps you think you need to take in order to get there. Then it’s simply a matter of putting in the time and effort to make them come to pass.

Set deadlines
if you’re vague about the timeline for the success of certain goals then you will notice that they never seem to happen at all. When you are setting up your steps needed to achieve each goal also write out how long it should take to achieve, it’s alright if you don’t hit it on the first try, but after you’ve extended it you’ll probably get better at judging the time and effort needed for it to happen.

Take time off
Plan your time off rather than just waking up and “not feeling like it today”, try and schedule your days off as you would if you were writing out an employee’s schedule. It’s easy to get into the habit of not taking any time off, or even worse taking too much time off.  If you know ahead of time which days you have off this week, it’s easier to plan something for those days to keep your life full and rich, as well as making sure you have those people with you that are most important.

Don’t go it alone
Enlist the help of others to help make sure you and your business succeed, your spouse can be a great sounding board for ideas, or a good source of encouragement when you need it. Make sure to keep those close to you in the loop on what’s going on.
Also it’s a good idea to surround yourself with likeminded people so if you can reach out to others in  your field either online of off, attend meetings in your area whenever possible and stay connected with others who are taking the same path as you. You can both provide each other with ideas, resources, and accountability.

I wish each and every one of you the utmost in success in your desire to work from home.

Creating an Ebook – A Step by Step Process

Writing an Ebook

Electronic information is replacing traditional books and magazines. Thanks to advancing technology, people can now read books on their smart phones, readers or almost any other electronic platform that supports the files. These books are called ebooks. They’re an important part of every e-business. They are used for internet marketing, affiliate marketing, SEO and blogging. They’re used to make money online by people who work from home. People sell e-books and give them away for free. E-books are a very powerful form of advertisement.

Creating an e-book may seem like a daunting task, especially if you’ve never written one before. Perhaps you’re not a writer, so you’re not comfortable with the idea that you can create your own ebook. If you can write a coherent sentence, and you know the basic rules of grammar and spelling, then you can create an e-book. The first step is choosing a topic to write about. It’s preferable to write on something that you already have intimate knowledge of. This will make the process easier for you to handle. If you’re comfortable with the topic, creating an ebook won’t seem so daunting.

Next, determine how long you want your ebook to be. Ebooks run from 5 pages to 32 pages and beyond. Some can even be 250 pages, or 500 pages. Remember, the longer your ebook, the more time you’ll spend on creating it. After you decide the length, pick topics that have to do with the subject of your book. These topics are going to be your chapters. You’ll need to create an outline for each chapter. You don’t have to write the chapters in order, but if you want the book to sync up, it would be a good idea to do so.

Follow up the writing with proofreading. Make sure there are no major grammatical or spelling mistakes. This can detract from the message, and turn people off from buying your products. There are professionals that can help with this process. SEO companies can usually help you if you’re having trouble with any of these steps. Just tell them you’re having trouble creating an ebook. Explain that you have an outline and that you need help with putting ideas together. They can usually take care of the rest. For a fee, they’ll ghostwrite the book for you. Ghostwriting is not unethical. Some people can’t write a book, no matter how much they may want to. That’s why there are people who will do the work for you behind the scenes if you pay them for it.

If you’ve written your own e-book, you’ll need software to officially put it together. Most ebooks come in .pdf files. This is the preferred method of reading electronic information. Occasionally you’ll find other types of files, but consumers and writers alike prefer .pdf. You’ll need a special type of software to save your book as a .pdf file. Adobe has the original software, but sometimes you’ll be able to find other software that will fit into your budget, and can still do the job.
