Why an Online Business is the Best Next Step to Freedom

online businessJim wakes up with the rest of his family, enjoys breakfast with them, and walks his son to school. He gets back home by 9 in the morning and sits down at his desk to work. In the afternoon, he pauses after lunch to spend time with his wife and young daughter at the park. In the evening, after the kids are in bed, he looks at his work for an hour or two before turning in. Jim decides that his day today is perfect. Just like yesterday and the day before.

Why can he make that claim? Jim runs an online business. He quit his job a few years ago and works for himself. He has more time to spend with his family; he doesn’t get home completely stressed out from commuting; he doesn’t worry about whether his boss will give him a good review or not. Jim’s story is a true one. And Jim is just one of millions of online business success stories.

If you feel like you’re stuck in your job and you’re getting sick of bosses and coworkers and commuting, you’re certainly not alone. Many people feel dissatisfaction about their jobs but don’t know what to do about it. They dream of an early, wealthy retirement with financial freedom to spoil their grandkids and travel the world but they simply don’t know where to start.

An online business is the fastest and easiest way to start. That’s because it requires next to nothing to get started and, once started, it costs next to nothing to keep it running. It can take some time and investment to market the business and to serve customers but even that is comparatively small and can largely be automated.

Just imagine the benefits that an online business offers! If you start and grow it while you’re working for an employer, you will no longer feel shackled to your desk and just running out the clock until retirement. Instead, you have the freedom to grow your business and quit your job. Quitting your job means no more bosses, no more coworkers, no more commuting. You work when you want. You don’t work when you want!

Owning an online business gives you freedom. Even if you never make more than you made in the corporate world, your quality of life is dramatically better because you have the time to spend with your family that was once wasted in working late, fighting traffic, or lunch meetings.

And that’s just if you don’t make a penny more than at work. But with a business where you’re in charge of your own future, the sky is the limit. You can make far more than what you earned as an employee because your salary isn’t predetermined by the hierarchy of the company.

In the initial years of owning your online business, you might be busy with marketing and order-filling and customer service (but believe me, it’s head-and-shoulders above what you had to put up with when you worked at a company) but over time you can outsource some of that work to someone else and enjoy far more time with your family.

Getting started in an online business is easy: Just find a niche, find a product that the niche wants, set up a website, start marketing your website. That’s it! That’s your business plan. It just requires persistence and optimism. Get started today and before you know it, bosses and coworkers and commuting will be a thing of the past.

Affiliate Marketing – How to Use Affiliate Marketing

affliliate marketingIf you are looking for a way to keep your online business competitive, affiliate marketing may be just the thing you are looking for. This technique has been proven to be a good way of targeting advertising and tapping into existing groups of customers who are already interested in the products that your business sells. Unlike many other techniques, marketing through affiliates is effective at connecting your business with groups of consumers who share an interest in your products and convincing them to purchase them. This is because of its unique characteristics. What follows should give you enough information to start using this great technique to increase your sales.

Unfortunately, traditional advertising is not that effective. Most savvy internet users ignore banner ads, and it is hard to get the attention of most people who simply want to read the web site that they are currently looking at. Affiliate marketing avoids this problem, as well as many others. Instead of simply tossing out advertisements and hoping they connect, this system involves a business and independent but affiliated websites. The affiliated websites produce content related to the business in some way. They could be blogs, forums, or other types of sites. The affiliated sites then direct their readers to buy the products for a percentage of the sale.

Because the affiliated sites know their own readers, they can market products to them effectively. These sites can work advertisements into their own content seamlessly, gaining the legitimate attention of their readers voluntarily. Additionally, because most affiliate marketing systems reward affiliates based on sales, rather than based on clicks or at a flat rate, the sites are highly motivated to actually turn clicks into sales, and will not bother using techniques that do not work. The freedom affiliated sites have in marketing is the strength of this great system.

It is clear that affiliate marketing can be a very important part of any marketing plan. All online businesses should strongly consider using this great strategy, as it has a low cost, and can be very effective. If traditional marketing simply does not perform as effectively as you would like, this great strategy may be the solution to your marketing problems. With it on your side, you can increase your sales and keep your business ahead of your competitors. With a little bit of research into further details of how this technique works, and a little bit of effort in setting up your system, you will be able to use this technique to improve your marketing with no difficulty.

Affiliate Marketing – About Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate MarketingWhile traditional advertising can be a powerful tool for an online business, affiliate marketing may be a better one. If you are not familiar with this technique, and you operate a business that sells products over the internet, you should definitely be interested in this particular strategy, as it can greatly increase the number of products that you sell. While you might be satisfied with traditional marketing methods, you should know that in order to remain competitive you will need every possible advantage that is available. Using affiliates to market your products may not be the best system for you, but you should definitely consider it as a possible tool.

Many ordinary marketing strategies involve paying advertisers to place advertisements and links on other web sites. This can work very well if they are placed at the right locations, and you are lucky. However, it can also provide less than satisfactory results. Affiliate marketing works very differently. In this system, a business pays affiliated sites to do their own marketing. The affiliated sites can come in many types. They can be blogs, forums, or other content sites. However, they will always have their own sources of readers, and those readers will share a common interest related to the affiliate site.

The common interest of the affiliated sites’ readers is the main advantage of this technique. Additionally, allowing affiliated site to do its own marketing gives a significant advantage as well. Trying to adapt a generic marketing strategy to the entire internet is difficult. However, allowing one web site to market a product to its own readers is simple and effective. Additionally, because most affiliate marketing plans reward the affiliates with a percentage of each sale that they provide, there is no wasted money for the main business.

Because of these great advantages, affiliate marketing is here to stay. Businesses that use this technique will gain significant advantages over those that do not, so if you sell products over the internet you should definitely research this technique if you do not use it already. By doing this, you will gain the advantages you and your business need to stay competitive. While traditional advertising will get you good results, affiliating yourself with independent websites and rewarding them for providing you with customers will as well. There is nothing stopping you from combining as many marketing techniques as possible to get the best results.

Work from Home – Content Writing

If you are looking for a great way to work from home, you have likely tried to find work on the internet. The web provides a huge number of opportunities for people to make money out of their own house, and if running an online business or creating a website isn’t your thing, you can still be involved. Many websites need someone to create content for their pages, and anyone with writing skills and the ability to research topics online can get a job doing so. Here, we’ll go over how content writing works, what it entails, and what you can expect from doing it.

Content writing is essentially a way to work from home that allows you to write web page content like articles, blog entries, and other types of media. This is typically done on a freelance basis, meaning you are paid either by the article or by the word, and that you are self employed. There are several things you want to keep in mind when freelance writing, such as the difference in doing your taxes (it counts as owning your own business in terms of taxable income), as well as the fact that you are not technically employed by the companies you write for. This means that a contract can end at any given time, though many companies are willing to offer indefinite writing contracts.

However, freelance content writing online also provides you with a way to work from home that offers a high degree of freedom. You generally write as much or as little as you want, you can make your own hours, and dictate your own wage. Those with degrees in relevant fields, such as English, communications, and digital media, may be able to get content editing and other more advanced copywriting positions, which in turn pay a higher wage. There are even salary positions for those that work as managers for content writing companies.

If you are looking for a great way to work from home, either as a primary source of income or as a way to make a little extra money aside from your normal job, then content writing can be a great way to do so. The freedom attached to freelancing makes it less stressful than other jobs, and if you enjoy writing it can be a great way to get involved with the online community. There is never a shortage of content writing jobs.

How to Keep Your Online Business From Failing

online businessIn the centuries prior to our modern web-based era, a business wasn’t that easy to start. In the earliest times, you needed a skill and some equipment and inventory to get it running. As bureaucracy increased, you also needed to make sure you had the right licensing, and it probably meant more than one trip to a government office before you could hang out your open sign.

Today, starting a business is as easy as buying a domain name and finding an affiliate product to sell. In some cases, you don’t even need that! What’s to stop you from starting one business a day and ending up at the end of the year with an empire of 365 businesses?

“Thank goodness we live in an era that would make this possible,” many would say. But that statement might be quickly followed up with “why aren’t my businesses selling anything?” The 1 successful business of yesteryear might be making more than the combined income of the 365 businesses you’re setting up online today.

Today’s web-centric business world makes starting businesses so easy. In some ways, that’s a good thing because it means more people can pursue their dreams of becoming business owners. But in many ways it’s also a bad thing. Want to know a key reason why fast-to-start and easy-to-run online businesses fail today? It’s because they are fast-to-start and easy-to-run!

No, there’s nothing wrong with those qualities themselves. The problem is that the entrepreneur’s mindset is different today. In previous years, serious thought, planning, investment, and time was devoted to starting one business. You had to jump in with both feet and work hard to make it run. Failure was still common but businesses failed for different reasons back then. Failure rarely happened because the entrepreneur wasn’t spending enough time or investment in the business.

But today, businesses still fail at an alarming rate but the reason is different: Rather than investing a lot of time and effort and planning into starting a business, someone can start a business with no money and no time and no plan. They’re not jumping in with both feet; they’re just dipping their toe into the world of entrepreneurship.

But entrepreneurial success requires more than your toe. To be successful, it requires your full determination. It requires serious thought and planning. It requires an investment of time, and perhaps even some money.

Online businesses can be fast-to-start and easy-to-run but that doesn’t make them completely hands-off. And, many of today’s technologies do allow for automation of a lot of an entrepreneur’s effort, but that doesn’t mean that the entrepreneur can ignore the business while they sip margaritas on the beach.

Instead, online businesses are just like offline businesses in the required investment of time, effort, money, and planning. If you have a business that is floundering, there’s a good chance that it will do significantly better when you roll up your sleeves and give it your full attention. And if you are starting a business and want to ensure its success, jump in with both feet.

Great Online Customer Service – Keeping Clients Satisfied

What many people tend to forget as they start down the path to making money online through internet marketing is that they will need to remember that this is a business like any other. That includes providing great online customer service, if you are selling any sort of product or service through your website. Even if you are going to be an online consultant, any sort of contact with customers means that they will need to be treated well, so that you can establish ongoing client relationships. The principles of online customer service are basically the same as they would be in a traditional business setting, but there are a few key tips to keep in mind.

The primary way that you will most likely be communicating with clients when you are running an internet marketing business or selling products online is through email. Unlike communicating over the phone or in person, this can lead to some unique challenges. When you can see a person’s face or hear their voice, you are able to read what they are thinking or feeling. Humor, an important tool in business, may not come across through email as effectively as it would in person. Be sure that you are fairly literal in your speech to avoid misunderstandings.

It’s also important to make sure that you are available with customer service at regular hours. In addition to the email portion of communicating with your clients, great online customer service should also involve a toll-free phone number that customers can call. Sometimes a client will just want to speak to a real person on the phone and feel like they are being paid attention to. Another method of internet marketing that can be used in this circumstance is to have someone available on the website to chat in real time with visitors, giving them the feeling that they have a real person there to help them.

As internet marketing makes it more and more possible to complete all purchases and business transactions online, it’s important to use all of these advances in technology to your company’s advantage rather than detriment. Great online customer service basically just boils down to making yourself available to assist customers with whatever it is that they need. The customer is always right whether it be via email or in person, so be sure to keep this in mind, and keep your correspondence professional and courteous at all times.

10 Reasons Why I wanted to be an Internet Marketer

Here are a few of the reasons I wanted to be an Internet Marketer, perhaps you can relate. The freedom that comes with running your own online business is something to be experienced by all at least once in your life. It’s never too late!

  1. 1. Set my own hours – There is something to be said for waking up when you want, grabbing a long shower, making a healthy breakfast for you and yours, perhaps a trip to the gym (with a quick stop off at Tim Horton’s) before you start your day? The important thing to remember is to stick to the schedule to have set for yourself, with freedom comes responsibility, if you wish to be successful, you WILL have to put in the time to grow your online business.
  2. 2.      Scheduling and Goals – I use a “To Do” list daily to help me stay on track, it lets me keep my priorities straight, and I can see at a glance how my day is progressing.
I also use a whiteboard which I now refer to as my “Goal Board” where I list out the bigger goals that I wish to accomplish for the month. As I accomplish them, I simply run a line through them. I typically write out about 20 goals per month, and accomplish between 15 or more.

  1. 3.      Set my own wage – Instead of letting someone else determine what your worth, you have the freedom to set your own wage, by how much work you’re willing to invest in your online business. If I want to earn more next year, perhaps I’ll invest some time learning something new this year to help make myself more marketable.  There are tons of quality sites out there offering free information, and even more offering some great tips and how to courses for very affordable prices. I tend to try and pick up these courses from blogs or sites that I’ve found useful, it’s a nice way to support these individuals, and say thank you at the same time.

  1. Be a Professional Student – For myself, and many others there is a constant need to know how things work, what makes them tick… One of the things I love most about Internet Marketing is the fact that I’m always learning, and studying new ways to promote my business, new ways to make money online, new ways to get my message across.  In my years online I’ve learnt so much from so many, and will always be grateful to those that came before me, and helped pave the way through trial and error and were good enough to share.

  1. I’m International – My business is available to everyone around the globe, I’m truly an International business, and I’m available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Where else can you own and operate such a business? My market is huge, and grows each and every day. There truly is not limit other than myself, my ability, or my creativity!

  1. Tools to Automate – There are plenty of tools to help me grow my business online, tools that help automate my business allowing me to service the growing number of clients without expensive out sourcing. One of the biggest dating sites in the world Plenty of Fish is still being run out of an 83-square-metre apartment in downtown Vancouver. Markus Frind who owns and operates the popular dating site spends approximately 2 hours a day and makes as much as $10 million per year. (I believe he has recently hired an assistant to answer emails, etc.)

  1. 7.      My Product Lineup – As an Affiliate Marketer, I have access to thousands of products, some of which are the most sought after material in the online world, and it came with nothing more than the ability to market those products that related to my niche.

  1. 8.      No more Commute – Really? Do I need to say anymore? J No more traffic, no more unexpected accidents on the way to work, causing me to be late for that important meeting, no more sudden snow storms that catch my city off guard, causing a two hour delay on the way to work. I’ve timed it, and I what used to take me 35 minutes each way, now only takes 20 seconds.

  1. 9.      Overhead Costs – The traditional brick and mortar type businesses typically require much more overhead costs. I had a Bottled Water company that had warehouse costs, forklift rental fees, fuel for trucks, bottles, coolers, yellow page ads, rent, salaries, etc. It added up to quite the big number before I even started my day. Now my budget is much lower, I’m able to more of the advertising myself, and if I run across something I’m not familiar with, I have the time to research it, and decide if it’s something I’m willing to learn and take on, or if I want to hire an expert.

10.  Holidays – My holidays used to be dictated by seniority, and the “needs of the business”. Now, I can take as much time as I require, whenever I require. My business is portable, and as long as I have a laptop, and an Internet connection, I can take care of business wherever I wish.

I’m sure that if I asked 20 different work at home entrepreneurs I’d receive as many different answers as to which benefit they place highest on their list of reasons to work at home vs. a more conventional JOB, but what it all boils down to, is YOU and your own personal views, and priorities, things that are important in YOUR life.
