Keys To Being A Successful Affiliate Marketer In This Day And Age

Keys To Being A Successful Affiliate Marketer

Do you know what the difference between being successful today is compared to being successful 10 years ago? If you said competition, then you are right. The reason competition makes being successful today a little bit harder is because there is always somebody competing with you no matter what niche you are in or where you are promoting your affiliate products.

Now, as a successful affiliate marketer myself I know what it takes to be successful and that is what I want to share with you today. Not only am I going to share with you the keys to being successful, I am going to give you a look into what I do and why it works.

Keys To Being A Successful Affiliate Marketer

Use Different Platforms

As an affiliate marketer you can’t just promote products from a website, you need to utilize the many platforms that are available to you. Some of the different platforms that I use and you should to are; Blogger, Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Youtube and my own website. If you want to be successful, the it is a must to use every platform that you can to promote your affiliate links.

Something that I highly recommend is that you don’t just use one platform for a certain product and another platform for something else, you need to test out which platform will work best for each product. If you can do this, then making sales will come a lot easier for you. Just remember that with affiliate marketing, everything needs to be split tested in order to get the best conversions.

Email Marketing

This actually is a different platform but the reason I left this separately is because email marketing is a whole different can of worms. Most people think that email marketing is very simple and it is, except for the fact of collecting emails. One thing that you need to understand is that you don’t just find an email address and then send an email, you need to make sure that person is interested in what you have to say.

The problem that most people have with email marketing is not that they don’t have a huge subscriber list, it is that they don’t have an interested list. When I say interested list I am talking about people who want to hear what you have to say. Trust me, if you want to make money with email marketing, then you need to get people to sign up for your email list by offering something related to what you are going to promote.

Tip: Even if you have 10 people in your email list, that is better than nothing and you should still sent emails every so often. Something that I would do is send out an email just to see how people are doing without promoting a product and the reason you do this is just to build some trust. I know this sounds a little backwards but the truth is that you need to be trusted in order to make sales.

Continued Education

One thing I know about affiliate marketing is that everything changes all the time and because of this you need to keep on learning. If you are a stock broker, real estate agent, insurance agent or a personal banker you are forced to go through continued education and it is so that you know everything about your industry. It is because of this that I believe that affiliate marketer should practice continued education so that they know everything about their industry as they possibly can.

Planning

Something that a lot of people totally forget about is the entire planning stage of affiliate marketing. Something that you need to understand is that you have to plan on what you are going to do and why. The reason I say this is because having a plan is the only way you are going to succeed. Think about it, if you are making money online right now, then you must have had at least a general plan in your head before you got started, right?

Never Quit

I should not have to tell you this but I will anyway, you can NEVER QUIT. The reason why I say you can never quit is because you can’t become successful if you don’t put all your time and effort into something. Trust me on this one, anybody will tell you that in order to be successful as an affiliate marketer you must keep trying and never give up.

As you can see, being a successful affiliate marketer will take some work but if you follow the keys to being successful, then you should have no problem. Just know that in order to be successful you will need to put in a good amount of work upfront.

Email Marketing Tricks And Tips

Email Marketing Tricks And Tips

If you are not working on building your email subscriber list, then you are not doing everything that you can. What most people think is that they need to make money right now and because of that they don’t bother creating an email list that they can turn to time and time again. What I would recommend is building an email list so that you can use email marketing to help you make money.

Now as we both know, you can’t just send out emails to anybody and expect them to read it. The reason email marketing works so well is because you email people that want to hear what you have to say and opted for your emails. I am not going to tell you how to create a huge email list right now, the point of this article is to give you some tips and tricks on what kind of emails to send, when to send them and how to market to your list.

The reason I am not going to tell you how to build your list is because most people know how to do it, they just have not taken action yet. Before I get to the tips and tricks I just want to tell you that email marketing is a skill that you will learn along the way so the sooner you get started, the sooner you hone your skills.

Email Marketing Tricks And Tips

Use Feeler Emails

There are a lot of names for this type of email but what they are meant to do is just get a feel for the audience. What you need to do is send out emails to your subscribers asking them different questions, giving them tasks and just getting a feel for what they like. What you don’t want to do is send out an affiliate link right away, you need to reserve this for something that you highly recommend.

Use Auto Responders

Another trick to making your subscribers feel loved is to setup auto responders. The reason this works so well is because you can give your subscribers a certain amount of emails instead of just sending 1 big long one. The reason you do this is to make sure that they don’t just get what they wanted and then op-out. You need to make sure that they are there for the long haul.

Give Away Something

Do you know what keeps people around more than anything else in the world? Free gifts! This is why I highly recommend that you give things away for free. Whether it is free information, sites with free gifts or great deals or just offer a free gift to your most valued subscriber for the month. Whatever it is that you might give away doesn’t really matter, what matters is that you are giving away something that nobody expects.

Stay Connected

The final tip that I have for you is to make sure you stay connected. So many people think that when they build a list they don’t need to do anything with it right away. This is wrong! When you build an email list you need to stay connected to your subscribers so that when you finally do promote something, they will click on it and hopefully buy it. Trust me, you don’t need a huge list but you do need a list of people that will follow you and read your emails.

Email marketing is not as hard as many people make it out to be and that is why so many people fail at it. All you need to know is that if you build your list right, keep in contact with your subscribers and give them something to look forward to, then you will be able to use email marketing to your advantage.

Advertising as an Income Stream

Advertising as an Income Stream

While most of you are hopefully developing more than one stream of revenue for your blog, today I wanted to talk about one in particular and that’s advertising.

A typical blog can incorporate several advertising methods and locations throughout the site without detracting from the overall user’s experience.  Remember, it’s never a good idea to try and confuse your readers so they aren’t sure where the ad ends and the content begins.

Another consideration when choosing which advertisers and products to align yourself with, is do they fit with the demographic that currently visits your blog? If you write about photography, then showing ads for sailboats might not be the best fit for you. Try to tailor your ads with products that can actually benefit your readers, and enhance their lives.

You may also want to consider rotating your ads so that readers aren’t continually faced with offers for the same product. You may even end up increasing your sales, because after a reader has purchased a product it won’t matter how many impressions you flash in front of him…he’s not going to buy it a second time!

Here are a few of the more popular ad models that are available to you throughout your blog and its assets.

Banner Advertising

Banners are visual ads that can be placed throughout your site. A few of the more traditional spots include (but are not limited to):

- The header
- The Footer
- Sidebar
- Above, below, or even within the post itself
- Post specific (If your post on the Canon rebel becomes popular online that would be a great place for a Canon dealer  to actually advertise the camera itself)

Often going through a broker will result in more advertisers; the tradeoff of course is that they take a percentage of the sale each month.

Text Link Ads

There are plenty of sites who are willing to pay for a contextual link from another ranking site within their industry. A typical PageRank 3 website or blog can expect to pull in $25.00 per month per link with these. You should always specify that you are selling the link, and not the PR benefits.

Sponsored Reviews

Companies are more than willing to pay you for your time in writing out a review on their product, service, or even their website. Depending on the length of the review, the quality of writing, and of course the value you place on your skills It isn’t uncommon for blog owners to charge anywhere from $100.00 to $500.00 per review.

Sponsored Tweets

Most of us have incorporated social media into our blogs, and have invested time and energy into building a loyal following using platforms such as Twitter and can reap the rewards that come with those numbers. When you consider there are users with 50,000 followers getting $50.00 per tweet you start to get an idea of the potential these lists have for their owners. As with any type of advertising you look at, try to keep the subject relevant to the topics you already cover.

E-Mail Marketing

Depending how long you’ve been blogging for you may or may not have started building a subscriber list of people who have opted in (usually for a gift or reward of some kind), and which is known as permission based marketing.

You can choose to sell ad space within the emails themselves, or you can sell them the entire mail out after you’ve approved the message being sent of course.

Contextual Ads

Using services like Google’s AdSense, or Kontera’s contextual text to show your readers advertisements that are relevant to the material on the current page is probably one of the easiest methods to get started earning with. With these ads you get paid either after showing a certain amount of ads, or when a visitor clicks on an ad and you then earn anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars depending on the type and quality of the ad that was being shown at that time.

Feedburner Ads

Integrating AdSense into your feeds can also be a great way to give your AdSense earnings a boost. Google has made it a fairly simple process that will likely take you no more than a few minutes to implement, and depending on the size of your subscribers base could result in a few more clicks a day for you. The tradeoff will of course be the showing of ads in a spot where readers have already become accustomed to none.

When it comes to earning money with your blog there is no shortage of opportunities lying around awaiting your decision and subsequent use. The thing will often be choosing the best methods that fit in with the topic and style of your blog and strike a balance between offering up high quality content for your readers, while also allowing you to earn a living.

The Traffic is in the List

We’ve all heard the phrase “the money is in the list” and while that is true, it still gets overlooked or placed on hold while marketers focus instead on other aspects on their online business. If you aren’t yet sold on the financial benefits to building your email list, then perhaps you’ll be open to the idea of an additional traffic source.

We readily invest in search engine optimization techniques, spend countless hours leaving comments on other blogs, and share our content on social bookmarking sites in the hopes of generating a few dozen more visitors each day. So why is it so many bloggers ignore the traffic potential that a personal email list holds for them?

When we build a list, we also cultivate a relationship with those subscribers by offering up valuable information in exchange for the privilege of also marketing to them from time to time. Often that valuable information will come in the form of a blog post on your site, and those readers who are interested in that particular topic will click through from their email account over to your blog.

If you take a look at the following graphic you can see that the visitors who arrived at my site via Feedburner stay longer, visit more pages, have a much lower bounce rate, and are generally much more engaged than any other traffic sources including Google.

Since you’ve actually taken the time to develop a relationship with these people, they are much more likely to spend time there, and interact in some way. They are more inclined to read more of your content, or perhaps even make a purchase from your site if you offer something that can help them in some way.

Using an email service like Aweber, it’s a simple matter to set things up so that your readers are automatically sent either a preview of your blogs most recent updates, or even a full text copy that they can read within their email client. I personally prefer to send them a weeks’ worth of blog post updates at once with a snippet that they can then follow through to my site.

By limiting these contacts to once a week the reader isn’t continually being bombarded by emails from you, but at the same time isn’t very likely to forget about you. As you continue to grow your list, the number of visitors who click through to your site will continue to increase, and your daily visitors will continually grow higher, and higher.

Having a responsive list holds value for you in so many different ways, and traffic is merely one of them. Should you launch a new Facebook fan page, new product, or simply wish to drive traffic to a new website, you have access to thousands of people with no more than a click of your mouse.

Yes, the money is in the list, but so is the traffic, so are the relationships, and so are the many opportunities that a marketer decides to make of it!

Elite Internet Marketing Forum

Internet Marketing Community and Forum

As many of you know I’m currently in the process of integrating an internet marketing community into the website in order to offer you all a place to go where you can build relationships, offer advice, ask questions and so much more that will help you with your marketing goals.

There are both a free section that contains the main internet marketing forum as well as the lounge where you can hang out and discuss just about anything that strikes your fancy, as well as the Elite Membership sections where the more serious marketers gather to discuss some of the more advanced topics, as well as discuss joint venture possibilities etc.

I’ve made the paid section affordable to all at $6.00 per month, or $49.00 per year, however I realize that many of you starting off in the make money online industry may be doing so out of the need to try and earn more money and as such maybe can’t afford even that amount. So rather than leave anyone behind, I’ve structured a way that you can get your membership for zero. To learn more, read the section at the bottom of this page!

Some reasons why you should join an online internet marketing community:

-          Relationships – Forums are a great way to meet other marketers, and small business owners who are interested in many of the very same topics as you are interested in. Each one of us also bringing a different set of skills and knowledge to the discussion. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a question that I was unable to find the answer to online, only to have another member who happened to be an expert in that exact field come up with the answer for me. Over time these relationships will benefit everyone, because you’ll develop a trust that is so important when developing both personal and business relationships with.

-          Personal and Professional Branding – Participating in an online community like this one allows you to showcase your skills and offers you a place to represent your brand. By placing a link, or banner to your website in your signature at the bottom of each of your posts you’ll also experience a great form of free advertising and traffic generation as well as numerous back links pointing to your website.

-          Education – I have met some of the most talented individuals who are not only capable, but generous with their time and knowledge and willing to share that knowledge in order to help out both new comers, and advanced internet marketers alike.  I have found that when two people belong to the same community there is almost a sense of brotherhood (or sisterhood) and as such a desire for each other to succeed rather than a competitiveness that is found most other places online and off.

-          A chance to showcase your skills and help others – While there will be times when you go in search of answers there will be just as many times that you are in a position to help the other members with something you happen to be knowledgeable about. Also if you happen to be a social media guru, and are always offering insight into those topics, chances are if you have a related website people will be extremely likely to click through and see what you have to offer over there.

-          Find reputable Services and Freelancers for sale – Since a members reputation can be discerned through a few things like reputation, ITrader, length of membership and feedback from other members, you are often much more secure when doing business online with these members. One of the things I hate most about online transactions is doing business with people I don’t know at all; this eliminates that to some degree.

These are just a few reasons it is beneficial to join an online forum, or community and there are so many others that I’m sure you’ll come to see once you join and start interacting regularly.

Members Area Integration

members area

Someone recently asked me what my business model was, and I told him, “I’d like to be a successful well known internet marketer who makes a good living while helping others do the same thing.” Now a big part of how I help people is by providing articles that keep them informed, and motivated, as well as up to date on the different methods of internet marketing that I’m using or reading about.

Since this is what I do full time, I have a fair bit of knowledge to share, and since I’m researching these different topics I might as well take the extra time to type it up and pass it along. You never know what piece of information might contribute to someone else’s success!

I knew in the beginning that I’d like an area where internet marketers, social media enthusiasts, affiliate marketers, and all the other likeminded individuals I run into on a daily basis could go, and share ideas, or just do some research. There are online forums, but they can be a bit overwhelming at times, and if you don’t know your way around they can seem a bit “cliquey” and hard for newbies and experts alike to share some “virtual space” and hopefully some great ideas.

I’m currently in the process of building a members section, where you can register, upload your favourite profile picture, tell us as little or as much about yourself as you feel comfortable with and interact with entrepreneurs just like yourself. Building a business is never done alone.

Some of the topics covered will be:

-          Internet marketing

-          Affiliate Marketing

-          Copywriting

-          Article Marketing

-          CPA (Cost per Action)

-          CPS (Cost per Sale)

-          SEO

-          Site Reviews

-          Graphic Design

-          List Building

-          Email Marketing

-          Tutorials

-          Member Downloads

-          Buy Sell Trade Section

-          Hire a Freelancer Section

-          Lounge

To access the member’s area, simply click the “members” tab in the navigation bar at the top of our page, to return to the website click the “website” tab and you’ll be brought back. Eventually the navigation system will be fully integrated (as soon as we can get WordPress and Vbulletin to play nicely together).  We will be adding and tweaking the features over the coming months, and adding content to the various forums.

The construction process will likely last a week or two barring no unforeseen coding disasters, so I’d ask that you please bear with me while I make the changes. I will try and make them as seamless as possible, and will be doing most of the work between midnight and six so as to not interrupt everyone. Please let me know if there is a feature you’d like to see added, or if there is something broken you don’t think I’ve noticed yet so I can get it fixed up right away.

Blog or Business

Blog

When you’re first starting out in the world of blogging it can be confusing as to whether or not you should be treating it like a mere blog, or something more that could potentially someday make you some money, or perhaps even replace your offline income altogether as mine has, thus allowing me the freedom that comes from working from home, and owning my own business!

If you happen to be fine with keeping it strictly as a creative outlet where you can express yourself and you have no intention of adding in ads like Google’s AdSense, or banners or anything of that nature, and you really don’t care if anyone other than yourself reads it then by all means treat it as a blog.

If on the other hand you’d actually like have the posts you write read by as many people as possible, and you might one day like to have this exciting hobby of yours start contributing to your income then you should start out early on treating it as you would any other business, with goals, plans, budgets, and clear ideas about what it is you are trying to achieve with it.

While the decision to treat your blog like a business should be started at the very beginning in order to maximize the effect on all aspect of your blog from the domain name choice and theme topic, it is really never too late in the process to start. By making a conscious decision to treat it as you would any other business you are effectively telling yourself you are going to take it more seriously.

Here are some things you can do to start treating it like a business and get yourself rolling in the right direction, don’t worry you’ll add to this list as you and your blog grows into something of its own. We all have similar but different lists because we all want different things where our blog is concerned and we all bring different skills to the table. Build on your strengths, develop the skills you’d love to have, and outsource the ones that you couldn’t be bothered with, or have no aptitude for. Just because I’m bad at coding html or php doesn’t mean I can’t find and use someone whose passion happens to be coding websites.

Passion for your Topic

The very first thing you should have, and I’m assuming you do so I won’t spend much time on it, is passion for the topic you are looking to write about. Hopefully it is something you bore the relatives with during the holiday meal because you just can’t seem to stop talking about it, and the excitement you feel comes out in your voice. It is this passion that you will tap into when things are tough, progress slows down, or halts all together, and you wonder what you were thinking in 6 months when you realize you still only have 100 readers coming to visit on a daily basis. Passion is an amazing revitalizer, and is great to have on your side.

A Clear Focus

You need to set out exactly what it is you wish to achieve with this blog of yours. By having a clear set of ideas in hand in the beginning, you’ll know just where it is you are trying to go with this blog business of yours. You’ll need a clear focus before you move onto the next one.

A Roadmap or Checklist

Ok so you know what it is you want, and where you’d like to see your blog in five years, now what? Well we need to map out the steps you need to take in order to get you there. If you said you want 1000 visitors a day reading what you write then you know you need to focus on traffic generating techniques each and every day alongside of writing that great content you intend to write. This will quickly branch out into other areas as you’ll soon see, such as developing a social network, and setting up a Facebook fan page, or Twitter profile in order to capitalize on the traffic they can send. Your roadmap will be long and daunting to look at, and in the beginning it will seem impossible and overwhelming. Don’t worry though, with each step you take forward you’ll be one closer to your goal, and you’ll soon realize that it isn’t arriving at the end result that is the best part, but the journey along the way.

Tracking Methods

I don’t know too many businesses that don’t bother to track progress on the different metrics they’ve deemed important to their business. If traffic is important to you (as I’m sure it is) then programs like Google Analytics are a great help, but you’ll need to dig deeper, and take a look at where and why these visitors are coming to your site in order for you to tweak and improve it in order to make that 1000 visitor goal you set out for yourself.  Tracking keeps you focused on what’s important and allows you to see if you are making progress, stalling out, or perhaps slipping behind and need to redouble your efforts, or perhaps explore new options regarding that particular method.

I recommend using a calendar to track when you need to enter your tracking data. It generally isn’t hard, but is often forgotten or left to slide. Adding it to your calendar will help keep you on track, and also make you more productive at the same time!

Separate your Income and Expenses

Most people don’t see the need for this in the beginning because the blog either isn’t bringing anything in, or it has such low expenses it doesn’t warrant the time needed to keep track of. Nonsense! It takes very little time, and gives you an accurate reading on what your business is costing (or making) you in a day, week, month, or year, and goes a long way toward making you feel like this is an actual business rather than just a hobby to be financed out of your back pocket. While some people will go as far as opening a separate business account specifically for their blog you don’t have to go quite that far (unless you want to) and can easily add $1000.00 into the running of your business, and track the results that way.

This also focuses your attention on the income streams that are most profitable to you and perhaps warrant a little extra attention in order to provide you a 3% return over a 2% return which can be huge at the end of the year. I personally recommend diversifying your income into at least five or six streams, and preferably into ten or twelve in case anything ever happened. People were making killings off of single websites until Google made a simple change in their algorithm that dropped their traffic, and hence their earnings down to zero. Those people were left scrambling to find a new method of earning money while they had to then learn a new way to drive traffic, and make money online.

Here are some example income streams for you to focus on. Now depending on your chosen theme, or topic these may or may not fit, but they should give you an idea of what you can expect.

If your blog receives traffic then you can make money with advertising other people’s products and services to the people visiting your blog. If you have higher traffic levels this can result in this being your primary source of income as it is for many of the top blogs out there. Also if your blog is quite specialized you might be able to fetch a higher than normal price based on that fact alone. If you blog about the Bugatti Veyron (a high end car) then chances are you’ll be able to ask a higher price of a local Bugatti dealer looking to advertise on your site than if you were discussing something more common such as 4×4’s or pickup trucks!

Affiliate Income

Affiliate marketing is where you earn money for promoting someone else’s product or service. This is different than advertising in that you will seek out products and services that fit in with the topic of your blog, and also have an affiliate program in place. Then you can promote those products or services to your visitors, e-mail list, Fan page members etc. in exchange for a commission on the sale. Affiliate marketing is great because it allows you to choose the very best products from the very biggest names in any industry without having to create the product yourself, or even build the relationship for that matter.

Affiliate Income (as a vendor)

Having your own product goes a long way toward establishing yourself as an expert in your field and allows you to showcase your knowledge while also making a profit. Even better if it’s a product you can sell through an affiliate network. Digital products such as e-books, software, audio recordings, and video courses work extremely well, but can be just about anything you can think of.

If I have a $20 dollar product and I sell one a day then I can make $600.00 a month. If however I have 5 affiliates selling one a day at a 60% commission (leaving me 40% or $8.00) then I’m able to make double that. If I want to increase my sales it is now a simple matter of adding more affiliates to my network, or by adding more products for them to sell for me!

E-Mail Marketing

You’ve heard people talking about the money being in the list for a long time now, and it’s because it’s true. Having a group of people who are interested in the topic you write about and promote is more valuable than you can believe. One of the hardest things in business is to acquire the customer in the first place, and having a pool of people that you can access whenever you want will go a long way toward the profitability of your blog/ business. Growing your list and developing a relationship with them should be something that you start right from the beginning. I personally use Aweber and love their service and will be a customer for life!

Selling a Service

If you have a specific talent that you can market to your peers, or others who might be interested then this will probably be one of the quickest sources of income you’ll experience. You can literally hang out your shingle this morning, and be working this afternoon if you try hard enough, and there are enough people needing your service. Say you are a better writer than marketers, perhaps offering to write quality articles at a discounted price for other people would be a great place to start. People are always looking for quality writers. Even if you haven’t yet developed your writing skills to the point you feel you’d like to start selling them you could offer a blog commenting service or something similar where you go out and write relevant, quality comments for blog owners on blogs within their industry using their website as the backlink. I know I don’t have time to do as much blog commenting as I should, and I’m sure there are millions of others out there!

These are just a few sources of income and there are many more out there waiting for you to implement them, and develop them into being profitable. Even the one’s listed above can be broken down further. There are thousands of affiliate programs out there with even more products. Instead of focusing on finding just one or two to promote, you could develop ten or twelve of these into their own separate income stream sources.

Want a New Car?

car payment

How many of you could find a use for an extra four or five hundred dollars a month? If you knew that you were ignoring a revenue stream that could easily create an extra five hundred dollars each month, and continue to grow as you grew your business would you consider it? What if I told you it was primarily a passive income that would grow along side of your blog running mainly on auto pilot? Now I’m not telling you that there is no work involved, but I’m telling you that it isn’t as hard or complicated as some might think.

I’m talking about email marketing, growing your list while continuing to write for, and promote your existing blog or website. Investing the time to offer your visitors an incentive for signing up to receive your emails is something that will continue to pay for itself for many years to come.

By gathering just ten subscribers per day (which is an easily attainable number) you will quickly reach 1200 subscribers, usually within four or five months, the reason for this is because you will likely have some unsubscribe after they have downloaded the free gift you are offering in exchange for their address, don’t worry, this is the nature of the business unfortunately.

With 1200 subscribers in your Aweber account that you can now start building a relationship with, as well as start marketing to, you will be able to generate an income that runs alongside of whatever your blog or website currently earns with advertising, or affiliate income. The average subscriber is worth about ten to twelve dollars a year, even if you only achieve half that number in the beginning, you’ll still be able to generate an extra $500.00 each month with your list. Over time as you learn the intricacies of email marketing this number will grow, and you will of course be adding to your list each and every month as well.

So what can you offer to your visitors in order for them to leave their email address behind in order for you to be able to reach out and contact them later on? Well, you could invest the time and resources in creating an EBook that fits with the theme of your blog, or website and offer it out to them in exchange. Generally these will do better than simple reports that many people are offering. You could put together an e-course and have it go out via auto responder sequence to them after they sign up. Often other marketers will even let you use their EBooks as giveaways until you can come up with your own. You of course can’t make any changes to the EBook, as the reason they let you give it away to your readers is so that they can get their name out there, as well as they usually have a handful of affiliate links contained within the book. But this is still a good deal for you, as you get a quality written book, generally by an expert in your field who is already well known, and they might make a few dollars if one of those people who downloads it makes a purchase through one of the affiliate links.

For anyone in the internet marketing niche, feel free to download my EBook “E-Business; The Insider’s Edge” and use it for a giveaway on your site until you are able to write your own. The only thing I ask is that you keep it intact, as I did invest 3 months into putting this resource together.

To start growing your email list today, head over to Aweber and get started today, and before you know it you’ll be enjoying just one more source of revenue each and every month.

Global Marketing Skills

A Global Market

The online world offers us a much wider reach and gives us the ability to market to a global audience, and it lets us do this 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with ease. This process is made smoother if you’re selling a digital product or online services where there are no shipping logistics to worry about.

With this greater reach, and larger marketplace though, comes a new set of skills that must either be learned or outsourced to individuals who already have these skills. Outsourcing can often be a great way to get started, but ultimately if you wish to maintain a high degree of control over your online enterprise, it’s a good idea to either learn the skill yourself, or have an in house staff member take care of it.

Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization, or SEO is a required skill that will enable you’re business, and website to be seen by people all around the world when they type in relevant keywords into search bars when they are looking for whatever service or product you provide or sell. Let’s pretend that you write resume’s for people looking for employment. It’s important that when they head over to Google, and type in resume writers that your business comes up, and preferably in the first or second page results, or they might never make it to you.

With this single skill in your internet marketing skills repertoire, you will have the ability to drive thousands of visitors to your  website for free using organic search engine traffic, which is often the best converting traffic because it is generally highly targeted.

Pay per Click Management

Also referred to as PPC, this is the flip side to the previous skill, rather than driving free traffic to your website, this is the art of sending paid traffic to your page.  Being able to maximize your marketing dollars is an important aspect of online marketing, and if you can drive targeted paid traffic to your website for fifteen cents rather than a dollar fifty or more, you’ll certainly be able to accomplish more with the higher volume of traffic you’re able to send.

Social Media Management

In order to manage this global audience it’s important to keep a finger on the pulse of your audience as well as the customers in order to respond to potential conversions (audience members into customers), or even customer service issues that might arise somewhere out on the world wide web. Managing social networks like Twitter and Facebook give you’re global audience a place to visit and find out about upcoming news or events, or perhaps just post a question or two to the rest of the members there to answer. Often times existing customers will be staunch supporters of your brand if they’ve had a memorable customer service result.

Email Marketing

Mastering this skill is critical to your global success, because this might be the only way you will end up reaching certain people in certain geographic locations, because unless you plan to travel 10,000 miles to put up a billboard in their neighborhood you may find it difficult reaching out to them. On the other hand, if you are able to find out where they do spend their time online,  you can target an offer specifically to them, and give it to them in exchange for their email address, allowing you to follow up with similar type offers that  will benefit the.

It’s important to remember that with the rise and reach of internet usage globally, the combined purchasing power of our population is growing at a staggering rate. And because it is still in its infancy, marketing too many of these people requires new methods, and out of the box thinking. A few years ago, nobody was really looking into the mobile market, but now it’s one of the fastest growing markets around.

Multiple Income Streams for your Blog

Multiple Income Sources

I thought I’d list out some income sources for you today, since that is likely why many of you read my blog and it never hurts to open yourself up to potential money that is being left on the table simply because you never knew it existed in the first place. I’ll list them out, and give you a brief description, and let you decide if any of them are right for you or your blog.

I’m a firm believer in the multiple streams of income plan, and continue to grow existing streams as well as keep my eye open for new and profitable one’s that I might come across. I also have to replace some from time to time, which is why it’s a good idea to be as diverse as possible and have anywhere from 6 to 20 or more income streams.

Google AdSense:
Google single handedly brought the internet marketing world back from the brink of death. After the dot com bubble burst, things were looking pretty grim until Google introduced the AdSense and AdWords programs. This is the first place new site owners should look to in order to start making money with their sites.  If your site received three or four hundred visitors a day, this can easily translate into $50.00 – $200.00 a month depending on your CTR (click through rate).

Clickbank Affiliate:
Whether you’re new or old to Internet Marketing, you’ve probably heard about affiliate marketing, and for good reason. It allows you to start selling products immediately even though you don’t have a product of your own. And the best part is you can pick and choose the absolute best products in your industry to promote to your visitors.

Clickbank Vendor:
Creating your own product does a lot to setting you apart from the typical internet marketer, and also allows you to show your expertise and commitment to excellence. You should take the time to produce a high quality product, and then try and maximize the launch to get the maximum possible effect. Having 500 affiliates selling a $197.00 dollar product for you can be a pretty nice payday even if you offer them a 65% commission. Even if only 10% of those 500 affiliates promoting your product produces 1 sale a month that works out to almost $3500.00 in your account each month not including any sales you might happen to make yourself.

Advertising Banners:
Yesterday’s post Attracting Advertisers to you Blog discussed methods used to try and attract advertisers to your blog, and because most advertising contracts run month to month, this can be a dependable source of extra income. If your selling 10 banner spots throughout your site for an average of $50.00 per month that works out to an extra $500.00 a month. Even if your site isn’t at the level where you feel comfortable charging that much and are sitting at $20.00, or $30.00 a month it is nice to have coming in and gives you something to look forward to as you grow your blog and your traffic.

Email Marketing:
I’ve talked before about the importance of building your list from the very start and there is a reason for it. The average subscriber on a typical list is worth about $10.00 or $12.00 per year. This might not seem like a lot, but after a year or so, you’ll be looking at a few thousand (or more) subscribers. And if you take the time to build a relationship with them, rather than just try marketing to them, you’ll enjoy a nice stream of income from this source as well. I don’t just send my list offers, I send them quality blog posts like this one once a week, and if something of value comes along I will send it out, and mixed in I will include an offer or two, and because these people are getting value from me, and understand that this is also my business, they don’t mind receiving an offer from me once in a while. Most are only happy to make a purchase through my affiliate link as a way of saying thanks. My Email marketing company is Aweber, click here to get started!

EBook Sales:
Like producing your own product to sell, eBooks are another great way to earn money while also setting yourself up as the expert in your niche. I mean after all, if I read your book on Domain Flipping, and come away thinking wow, this guy/girl really knows his stuff, chances are I just might become a reader of your blog, and later on when you make a recommendation on a product related to your industry I’ll remember that you are quite knowledgeable on your topics, and also that you took the time to provide me and others with great content through your site, and I’ll be happy to buy through your link.

Affiliate Networks:
Aside from Clickbank, there are a ton of other great affiliate networks that allow you to sell products that interest you, or are relevant to your blog. If you’ve got a blog that talks about all  the latest and greatest video games, then it might be a good fit for you to sell merchandise that relates to your theme, video game consoles, video games, add-on’s, controllers, etc. Pepperjam, Azoogleads (now Epic Direct), Commission Junction are but just a few you might want to check out, and apply with.

CPA Networks:
CPA (Cost per Action) networks are slightly different in that they will pay you for visitors who take a certain action, like signing up for an offer, submitting their email address, or making a purchase. CPA can be a great additional source of extra income.

Review Me:
Review me is a site that allows bloggers to get paid for reviewing certain products or services.  Basically an advertiser looks to see which blogs within the network would fit his particular product or service, and then will request a review; if you qualify you can accept it, and then review the product or service and get paid for it. It’s a great way to earn money by doing a service for both your readers (informing them of the pros and cons of a product they might be interested in, but also gives some important insight to the company so they can adjust or tweak the product if there is an area that comes up lacking. www.reviewme.com

Misc. Affiliate Offers:
There are thousands of companies out there that have affiliate programs that you can take part in. Just because they don’t belong to an affiliate network, doesn’t mean they don’t have a high quality product.
If you find that your using a product and loving it, why not write a post on your blog about it, and why it’s so great? If the product has an affiliate program include your link at the bottom, and tell your readers that “Hey, this is my affiliate link! If you end up purchasing it and buy through it I get paid a commission. If for some reason you don’t to use my link, here is one without”
People will appreciate that you shared the fact it was an affiliate link, and if they are in the market for that particular product most will be more than happy to purchase through you, especially since you took the time to review the product for them, saving them the time and trouble of doing it themselves.

Amazon AStore:
I recently added a bookstore to my site that I filled with internet marketing and business books. I thought this would be something my readers would benefit by, because if your anything like me your bookshelf is filled with books related to your passions. Now, while a reader is visiting my internet marketing site, if they see a book on the subject they can pick it up right from within my pages, and I’ll make a small commission from it. (4% currently which isn’t much, but is one more source of income)
You can fill your store with anything that Amazon sells in their marketplace; it doesn’t have to be just books!

Twitter:
Twitter marketing is getting more and more popular these days. Unfortunately it is also filling up quickly with spammers, but you can still take part in Twitter marketing without spamming, you might simply be selling sponsored tweets to companies related to your topic. There are places like Sponsored Tweets that you can sign up for that will send you related offers that you can then choose to accept and tweet, or decline if you don’t feel your followers would benefit.

Facebook:
Facebook marketing is even bigger than Twitter, and grows each day. There are 517,760,460 users on Facebook and is probably the largest market on the planet. If you haven’t already started a Facebook campaign, I’d highly recommend you take a look into it, and start developing your income stream. A great training course Is Facebook Marketing Uncovered and currently sells for $47.00 and comes with 28 video’s walking you through the entire process step by step.
www.fbmarketinguncovered.com

So there you have a few income streams to help you start making money online, if you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment and I’ll get back to you as soon as I see it!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a productive day!
