Don’t Let AdWords Get Out of Control

Adwords

AdWords can be a very difficult thing to master.  A lot of people have to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars before they learn to make a profit.  Some people are never able to become profitable, and give up after losing a considerable amount of money.

In order to have the best chance at being profitable, you have to learn to be extremely vigilant about your campaigns.  You have to monitor them carefully, and always end campaigns that stay unprofitable for a long period of time.

One of the first things you should monitor is your CTR.  If your click through ratio is very poor, your ads will cost more.  It will take more money for the same number of clicks your competitors might get if they have a better CTR.

If your CTR is too low, you need to tweak your ad.  You need to look at the text your competitors are using, and attempt to make it better.  Try to get inside the minds of your visitors, and think about what they’re looking for when they search for a particular word or phrase.

Use AdWords’ split-testing setting to test multiple versions of your ads, and use the best ones.

Keep an eye on your quality score (QS).  If your score is too low, then you need to do a few things to get your quality score up.

The higher your QS is, the less you’ll have to pay for your clicks, and the more profit you can potentially make. The quality score takes several factors into account for its ranking algorithm, and Google doesn’t release the details of every single one.

They give you a little general advice, but it’s not really enough for most people to dominate AdWords right out of the bat.  After a lot of experimentation, many experts have come up with some guidelines than can help improve your quality score.

Make sure you have each campaign’s keyword phrases on the landing page itself.  Don’t use the keyword “golf carts” if the word “carts” doesn’t appear anywhere on the page.  That could bring your quality score down.

Your landing page shouldn’t be a single page with no internal links.  Google doesn’t seem to favor single page landing pages.  Add links to relevant products, articles related to the niche, or pages such as a privacy policy, terms of service, and a contact page.

Keep your campaigns to a few highly related keyword phrases each, such as one for the product name only, another for long tail phrases, and a third for more broad keywords.  You should make sure you target those keywords in your ad.

If you have “golf clubs,” “golf bags,” and “golf club warmers” as your keyword phrases, you should try to use at least one of those phrases in your ad.  You might have something like “Golf Clubs, Bags, and Accessories” in your ad.  The words people search for will appear in bold in your ad, so the more you have in your ad, the more likely it is to be clicked.

Finally, you should carefully track conversions.  Make sure you have a way to track which traffic came from AdWords if you’re sending traffic from more than one source.  Conversions are ultimately the most important factor in the success or failure of your AdWords campaign.

Keyword Research

Keyword Research

Keyword research is a crucial aspect of SEO, or search engine optimization, and is used in order to determine the best keywords to use on a given optimization project. If you work from home, such as if you operate an e-business or make money blogging, then you can benefit by doing a little keyword research of your own. Knowing which keywords you want to use in a search engine optimization project will allow you to get the best results for your money, and here we’ll go over a simple way to do some research on the subject, as well as how it can benefit you.

Perhaps the easiest way for someone wanting to do keyword research is through the use of Google AdWords. Google AdWords is an internet marketing tool that allows you to put in a key phrase or search term, and provides you with a report on how many people are searching for that exact term and similar or related terms each day, each month, and so on. It also provides information on the number of websites in competition for search results on that term, which translates roughly to how difficult it would be for you to appear early on in the search results page.

For example, suppose you run an e-business that sells women’s clothing. You might use Google AdWords to find out how many people search for terms like “women’s fashion,” “trendy clothing,” “cheap women’s clothing,” and so on. By comparing the number of searches to the competition for a given key phrase, you can choose target key words to optimize for that will give you the best results. For example, suppose “women’s fashion” has fifty thousand searches per day, but has a high level of competition. In contrast, suppose “trendy clothing” has forty thousand searches per day, but has less competition. In this case, it might be worth it to take the less popular search in exchange for a higher chance of appearing in the search results.

SEO can help your website, business, or blog increase the amount of incoming traffic. Because almost every online business and blog relies on traffic in order to turn a profit, search engine optimization can help many people increase the success and the efficiency of their websites. If you are looking for a way to give your site or blog a boost, then starting a search engine optimization project is a good start.

Tips to Help You Make Money Online

MAKE MONEY ONLINESince the beginning, Internet marketing has held a massive appeal to me, and probably has too many of you people reading this as well. Earlier today while I was writing out an email I had three alerts come in via PayPal letting me know that I had made 3 sales. Now the price on that particular product is only six dollars, but still. I wasn’t working for it. I was writing a personal email when they came in. You can’t help but smile as you get these alerts throughout the day or night.

If you want to make money online there is any number of different ways to approach it. There are a few things I’d keep in mind however when considering at which internet fountain you’re going to try and draw money from.

Diversity - Multiple streams of internet income is something I preach to everyone who’ll listen. There is just no safety or security in trusting all your eggs in one basket with no guarantee it won’t dry up tomorrow, or become saturated, or whatever. When Google introduced the Adsense and Adwords program there were people who made small fortunes with Google. I’ve personally seen monthly checks for $4000.00 and I’m sure a lot of you are familiar with the $132,994.97 Adsense check that Jeremy Schoemaker received back in September, 2005.

Education – Strive to become excellent in each area your passionate enough about that you feel you’d like to explore the profit potential of. I schedule 1 hour into each and every one of my days. All 365 of them actually! I take this time to research new products, new ideas, I’ll sign up to other marketers products just so I can see how they format they’re sales letters to me! Internet marketing education is important, don’t neglect it. Make sure you have a circle of friends around you both online and off who can help push you, and motivate you.

Take action – It’s important to keep active, make sure you’re continually moving forward, either pushing your current projects further, or developing new ones. Like a Shark, to stop moving forward is to die. The online world is continually changing. Just because a product you’re promoting now is doing well, doesn’t mean it will be in six months or a year. If you can’t list out a dozen things to do tomorrow to progress your business forward, you’d better sit down and start brainstorming.

Keep Track – It’s important to keep track of your progress as it relates to your business. Each day I start my morning by logging the progress from the previous day’s work. My Facebook fan page grew by 46 fans, Twitter followers across accounts grew by 400 followers, emails subscribers 11, backlinks 23,976 etc. This way, I can at a glance know that I’m moving in the right direction. I’ll also know instantly if any one area is being neglected by me or my team, or isn’t responding, allowing me to change tactics and maybe approach it differently.

The List – You’ve heard over and over that “the money is in the list”. So what are you waiting for? The time to start building your email subscriber list is in the beginning.  Remember tip number one? Diversify… well your subscriber list when built properly will be worth approximately $10 to $12 per year/subscriber. Not huge money….or is it? If you gather just 10 targeted subscribers each day, you’ll end up with 3650 email subscribers within the year. At $12 each that’s an extra $43,800 in almost pure profit to your businesses bottom line! Build your list!

That’s it for today, See you tomorrow!

Internet Marketing Tools – Adwords and Online Marketing

Internet Marketing ToolsThe importance of having an online presence for your business, whether it is a single store serving a small local area or a franchise that spans one or more states, cannot be stressed enough. In the increasingly electronic advertising world, an internet presence shows that your company is not only modern in its design, but vigorous and robust as well. There are a wide variety of internet marketing tools available for business owners who want to increase their online presence, and here we will go over the foundation of using many of them, as well as how you can use these tools to your benefit.

Internet marketing tools are all aimed at accomplishing more or less the same thing: increasing the visibility of your corporate brand or website, and bringing in a larger amount of traffic to your business’ website (or websites). This is done in a variety of ways, but the different means are all working towards the same end. One of the most popular tools for online marketing is Google Adwords. Adwords operates on a fairly simple premise, and provides a few simple but effective ways for companies to promote their site.

Adwords is one of (and also the best of) the many internet marketing tools that allows online marketing teams to see the frequency with which certain key phrases and terms are accessed through Google’s search engine, as well as the number of other websites that have a high volume of that key phrase (thus increasing their rank in the search results). Being able to compare how many users are searching for a particular key phrase, as well as how much competition that key phrase has, allows marketers to try and maximize the amount of traffic they bring in for the least amount of time and money. Obviously, the most desirable key phrases are those that have a high number of searches with a relatively low number of competitor websites providing results on that phrase.

Using internet marketing tools to promote your company’s site is an effective way to increase the amount of traffic, and thus the number of sale conversions for products and services, coming into virtually any type of website. Even if your business is a local shop at a single location, offering products and services to only a limited area, marketing your site using geo targeting will allow you to draw in more customers.

AdWords Explained – How the World’s Most Popular Internet Advertising Product Works

adwords pay per click program

Advertising on the internet is a world as wide as the World Wide Web itself. The possibilities for internet marketing are endless. One of the most popular advertising vehicles online is Google AdWords. AdWords is Google’s flagship advertising product and accounts for the majority of Google’s revenue. And it generates that much profit for Google because it does an excellent job of advertising for Google’s clients. By successfully branding itself as the world’s go-to search engine, Google has placed itself in a unique position to be able to reach more eyes and more customers than any other medium. This is what makes AdWords so successful and so effective.

The way AdWords works is twofold. The first internet marketing option available is pay-per-click advertising. The company provides their information to Google: what keywords should trigger their ads and how much they’re willing to pay per person that clicks on their ad. When a person conducts a search in Google’s search engine, the ad is listed along the side of the search results under “sponsored links,” and some are listed above the search results as well. Every time someone clicks on a sponsored link, that company pays the prearranged amount to Google. The ranking of ads in the sponsored links depends on how much they’re paying per click, as well as the ad’s relevance to the actual search.

AdWords also places targeted advertisements. Advertisers can use the AdWords panel to tell Google about their keyword, demographic, domain name, and topic preferences. Based on these preferences, Google will place ads for the site on various websites in their content network that are relevant according to the information provided by the advertiser, not including the search engine. Advertisers have the option of taking up an entire ad block instead of having to share the space with other advertisers, resulting in greater visibility and more pointed internet marketing.

Google is the world’s most popular search engine. There’s a reason that AdWords is such a popular internet marketing and advertising tool. It’s because it works. Google has perfected a method of maximizing their popularity for the mutual benefit of themselves and their advertisers. They’ve created an admirable business model that is both affordable and effective for the businesses that choose to advertise on Google AdWords. Because of its wide net and heavy exposure, advertising through Google AdWords is sure to provide a good return on your investment.

Adwords Basics – Making Money with your Blog

AdwordsWhile there are a number of ways to make money online, one of the easiest to use ways that is growing in popularity as a result is Google Adwords. This is a program that provides advertisements that you can add onto your blog or other website. You then get paid per click on each of the advertisements.

If this sounds simple, it is. However there are still a few Adwords basics to keep in mind to make sure that you are making this program work for you at the peak of its ability.

One of the first tricks to keep in mind in terms of Adwords basics would be to choose one main topic or focus for your blog, and then find ads that make sense in that context. One of the most frequently searched-for topics on the internet, for example, is health. Any health-related blog that is written with SEO-driven content is going to receive a great deal of traffic online, and therefore you would want to choose ads that are also health-related. That way, the people reading your blog will be more likely to click on them, making you a great deal of revenue with very little work.

Another thing to think about is the currency issue. When you sign up for Adwords, you will get to choose what sort of currency you are paid in, and most people choose US dollars. Be sure to watch the fluctuations of the various economic markets and currencies to be sure to get the most out of your ads and blogging revenue. This is one of the fundamental Adwords basics that isn’t mentioned as often in tutorials but can really make a big difference in how much money you are making overall. This could be a difference of up to 30% of your income, with the recent drop in value of the Euro, for instance.

Geography and location are another one of the Adwords basics that you will need to think about when you first sign up for this feature on your blog. It’s possible to choose ads that are very specific to your town or region, and if you think your main blog readers are going to be those that live nearby, you will want to target your ads to reach them. These all seem like small details, but they are the ones that will make all the difference in the long run regarding how much money you can make online.
