Squidoo is a page that can act as a base of operations for your linkwheel. Squidoo hosts “lenses,” or pages that are dedicated to specific topics. From Squidoo, you can link to an article that you wrote on a different website, or to a post on your blog, especially if you utilize good SEO throughout. This is the first major step in increasing your visibility on a search engine.
Next, you want to write an article to link to your Squidoo lens. You can post it to any article directory, like Ezinearticles or GoArticles. As with any internet post, SEO is crucial to making sure that it gets as high a ranking on a search engine as possible. When you list your resources for the article, be sure to link back to your Squidoo lens, which is, in turn, linked back to your website. You’re sure to get some hits as people click through the various links they see. These articles should be different from blog posts, which are a little more casual in tone.
So let’s talk about blogs. You can start a blog for free on sites like Blogger, WordPress, or Xanga. SEO is the most important here, since the internet is rife with blogs about various topics. When people do an internet search for your topic, you want to make sure that the search engine ranks you as high up on the list as possible. Once you write a post, you can link it back to your article. From there, you can either stop or you can “close” the linkwheel by linking to your blog from your website.
