Traffic Exchanges
Has anyone here had any success with traffic exchanges? Or are they pointless?

Re: Traffic Exchanges
In my opinion they are useless as far as sending any quality traffic to anything at all.
In the past I've tried them, and on pages that converted at 10% (Squeeze page) meaning that for every 100 visitors it got about 10 sign ups, I was able to send 100,000 visitors using traffic exchange and not a single conversion.
If you've ever spent time building up credits on a site like this did you look at the websites you were "visiting" or did you try and run it on "autopilot"?
In fact most people use bots to build up credits, and don't ever even see your site.

Re: Traffic Exchanges
Thanks for the input Dadelius, that's kind of what thought. But I wanted a second opinion. What do you think about social bookmarking? Would that work for what I'm trying to do? Which is just get people to my squeeze page.

Re: Traffic Exchanges
Honestly the best method I've seen for that is simply article marketing, with a link to your squeeze page. Get a copy of Dragon naturally speaking, upload 10 articles a day for the next three months, and see what happens!
Bookmarking should be used, but I don't think it's as effective.
Whatever product/service/e-course etc that you are offering through your squeeze page, you should target your articles around that topic. If you are offering a solution to a problem then make sure you point to that solution below your articles in your resource box.

They're very pointless and fowned about most advertising networks - they're only good if you're trying to rank high on top lisitng sites or something.

Re: Traffic Exchanges
Speaking of Traffic exchanges have you guys heard of the site Twiends? Cool concept for growing fans, followers, views, and website visits that has seen explosive growth in the last few months.
Funny thing though Google just suspended them for having the website traffic exchange so they've pulled it. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Re: Traffic Exchanges
When you want to increase your business and serve more customers, one of the best ways is through advertising. There are many different ways to advertise for a business: radio and television ads, print ads in magazines and newspapers, large ads in telephone books, flyers in direct mail, and of course, the newest is Internet advertising. It can be hard to decide which is the best way to advertise for a business and which will yield the most results. Further, you probably have an advertising budget, which will dictate the types of advertising you can employ.

Re: Traffic Exchanges
Traffic exchange is good thing if it is coming from the relevant websites there are many website which are really great for generating traffic for any website. If we link good traffic websites then it is possible that we can get the good visitors from there.

I completely agree, they just help you to increase your Alexa, thats it, no more benefits from them.
