Default Traffic Exchanges - Fake or Fame?

I recently read an ebook about getting traffic using traffic exchanges - I never used them before -
so I signed up with a couple and started surfing to earn some points.

Most of the tactics taught by this ebook wouldnt work - cheating is almost
impossible and its so boring I almost felt asleep! LOL
The only thing which might work is buying points - they are quite cheap but
I doubt that you will get much leads let alone sales...

Maybe I missed out on the real secrets???

Karsten,

Traffic exchanges do work to a degree and are not as effective as what people make them out to be. I don't use them anymore, and I haven't for about 7-8 years now. I guess things could have changed over the years but I seriously doubt it.

I tested them many years back and they was pretty much useless then ... Recently I signed up to one popular one and paid for gold membership to test it, it seems they are still pretty much useless...

Many marketers use them to build optin list vs actually trying to sell something. I have tested this also and the opt-ins do not seem to be too responsive once they get their free gifts for signing up ..

All in all in my opinion, don't waste your time...

I was about to buy a membership myself just to see if this makes a difference but I guess its a good business model for the owner of a TE

Yeah it is a perfect business model for the TE owner.. Always has been because many are fooled into thinking that traffic = sales but we know that is just not true.

The success rate with TE really depends upon what type of members are joined, what they are doing online, and what they are really looking for. This is why some actually do see success with opt-ins because they pick and choose which TE to actually pay for.

If you surf about 200 or 300 pages you can pretty much tell what type of members are there, for the most part though many will be made up of the biz oppers...

The problem with most of these exchanges, is that the people browsing your site are highly disengaged (as you were while browsing their sites). Most just want to get the view credit, and move on to the next site.

Okay .. from someone who has owned both a traffic exchange and a safe list .

They are the greatest way to build a list and make quiet a few sales .

Only if you own them though .

members have to open your emails to stay active . Don't want to buy one ... leave them alone .

I can set up an offer on my site and do one run of bookmarks and get more targeted traffic than clicking for days on end .

I do keep one active membership for the fact it is only like $5 a month and it can be beneficial to have 25,000 visitors you can test a new offer with.
