Sneaky Offline Marketing Tip
have some old school bookmarks with your URL on it printed.
Sneak (thats the sneaky part) into your local library and slip those bookmarks into the books
Disadvantage: If you get caught they make you mob the floor
so it might be actually a good idea to approach them officially and strike a deal
This could work if your target market matches in some way the library clientele e.g. students, school kids
(all those poor folks who dont own an ebook reader or IPAD LOL)

You can also make up flyers and go down to the local Wendy's, Burger King, etc ... and asked the managers to put the flyers on the trays as placemats on specific dates.

Are you allowed to mop patterns on the floor? You could spell out your website - it would be like viral marketing when the newspaper reveals the reason for some frail old lady's demise was slipping on your website.

Lol Dean,
I used to do that on the beach in the sand. The only problem with it was that I never knew how to track traffic from this method.

Re: Sneaky Offline Marketing Tip
A few weeks ago, i had to buy a new cord for my laptop. My first stop was online, but I didnt want to wait for shipping, so i went shopping as well. In the process, I found the offline stores where almost five times the price of buying online.
While in one of the stores, I ran into someone else with the same problem. I gave them a website adress that I found where I got mine, written on one of my business cards.
Forgot about it until yesterday. The site I gave them was my online marketing blog, and they sent me an email through my contact form. They joined my list, and even bought one of my ebooks on making money online.
The contact i had with them had nothing to do with making money online, but it helped me to get a customer to my site.
Everywhere you go, and everyone you talk to is a potential customer. keep that in mind when you are out shopping.

That's a good method - I mean to be helpful to people offline. I find that when you take the time to help them, they get curious and follow it up. For instance when they went to your site, and then signed up for your list.
The odd thing though is why online marketers don't use these types of offline tactics much. Sure those who have tried them before or come from an offline background know how useful they are. But the majority of "quick profiters" would never use offline tactics. They simply run through mailing lists, throw them away, and aquire new names and addresses.
Go figure right?

The trouble is the footprints take you to the top of a hill .. most people think the path is too narrow.
