I have tried in vein in the past few months for spearheading marketing campaign in some famous social networking sites, but I have failed utterly to succeed. Suggest me how I can get success in this domain.

Social Networking sites have a particular way of working for marketing. You can't just make an account and hope to god that people will follow you and visit your site. You need to build a croud. Invite people, find similar pages and comment. Get yourself out there and get a ton of fans. Then from there, fans will invite more fans. It is a self repeating process if done right. Traffic will flow to your website sooner or later.

May I suggest, that if you have a real intent to get involved in a business as complicated as IM, that you start learning how to do the reaseach to find the information you will need.


You can search forums with the search function...
You try ask.com...
Google has information.....

Then you can find out from the forum what is working and what is not.....

I've tried this method it earlier, but there is no guarantee it will work.. I was just lucky or people were in good mood , I don't know.

I'll share what I did to gain traffic & marketing through social networking sites..
Firstly I invited all my friends (a huge list of 300 friends ) saying them we can play online game with real opponent and buy,sell games if you register on my site free of cost !!
Most of friends are gaming freak, they registered and I marketed all my products(games) through that site & my friends told other friends..
So I was able to succeed... It was basically because of my 5 best friends.. So you need someone else also to succeed when you try doing something like this..

The way to work social media is to actually get involved.. Take the time out to talk to your friends and socialize with them, it is called social media for a reason. If you are going to a social media site with the mindset to make money off someone then you need to change that mindset.

Social media can be very powerful but you must get involved. Play some games with friends, join their groups, make post on the groups, and etc ... Pretty much its a very simple process, get involved.

Spending the time to get to know people and actually be their friends will go a long way ...

With social networking, you basically need to take a viral approach. Firstly, you need to have content on the social network site that people find interesting, and you need to continue to build on that content. Secondly, you need to let people know about that content by advertising it. You need to reach a critical mass of regular new followers for your campaign to be successful, or it will fizzle out.
