Default Are PLR articles a good idea?

Just out of curiosity I purchased PLR articles from 4 different sources. I "Copyscaped" 21 of them and found that all but two of them had been duplicated--word for word--on at least 15 different sites.

Is this the norm for PLR articles, or has anyone had a different experience?

Hi Mike,

Yes, that's the norm for PLR articles. The same is true for ebooks, reports, etc ... They may have different titles and author names, but they are the same products.

This is part of the reason PLR stuff turned sour over the past year.

It used to be that when people sold PLR articles and other PLR products, they would put a Cap on the amount being sold.

If I ever purchase PLR stuff, I always change or rewrite the content at least 50%-60%, and never buy PLR software anymore period.

I think plr articles and reports are a good guide, so long as you make adequate changes as Mary said. You can also add your own style to them. I think you need to add to a plr product, especially something like a report or ebook.

In the past I bought 2 reports with different titles and different sales pages, but the reports were almost identical, so I wouldn't be in a hurry to buy off either of these people again.

I've started to rewrite and add to plr products over the last couple of months, and it's a lot easier than researching a topic and writing your own articles and reports from scratch. I also research the top 5 to 10 keywords related to a plr article and include and add content for those keywords.
