Default Anybody use coupons in their newsletters?

I want to put printable coupons in my newsletter (for an offline store). The closest thing I have to do this is I'm an affiliate for coupon surfer that has some coupons for my specific niche (links to their website). The only thing I can think of doing is giving them a link, which is alright, but I really like to put a printable coupon for them to take to an offline store.

Anybody done this or have any suggestions?

I'd be interested to find out this as well. Coupons are very popular, especially when there is an economic downturn and would add to a newsletter or blogs value.

Sounds like a nice idea for sure.

I've never done it, but I'd be more than happy to hear from others how their experience was.

Ya, everyone wants to get a bargain in good times and in bad. I see some websites that offer coupons on everyday items getting huge amounts of traffic.

Assuming the newsletter is in HTML format? Two suggestions that work for me:

1. Send the subscriber to a web page with the coupon that can be printed or a link to a PDF document that the subscriber can save or print.

My best results are to send the subscriber to a web page where you can also create more offers, adverts, etc. The objective is to push the subscribers out of the email box and into your market fold.

Tip. Publish your newsletter online (Newsletter Archives) so that people "not" on the list also have access to your offers, adverts, etc. Some newsletter publishers also create a new link to the online newsletters using TinyURL when you have a subscribers special "only for subscribers." Explain that to them and they feel privileged.

2. Last, but not least, instruct the subscriber to print the email.

Thank you Jeff,

That helps out a ton. I was realizing that using a link to the coupon page would probably work but I love the idea of sending them to your "own coupon page" that may have other items and offers for your subscriber or others who stumble upon your online coupon page.

Thanks

JB
