If you own an internet business you already know that articles are an excellent way to promote your business. But the question is... should you write your own articles or hire someone else to do it?

My opinion is that if you're just starting out and on a budget, you should write them yourself -- for obvious reasons. But as I thought a bit more about it, I came up with a few more important reasons why you should write your articles yourself...

1. Writing your own articles puts you in control of your online business.

2. The search engines love unique articles that nobody else has.

3. Articles are the quickest route to getting subscribers -- and traffic to your newsletter, blog or your website.

4. Every time you write an article you add to your online reputation and enhance your writing skills (and your ego?).

5. When you can write, you have an endless supply of quality, unique content that would cost you a fortune to get anywhere else.

As you probably suspect, this is just my opinion.

You have some excellent and very valid points. I just had 10 articles written for me and I just got them back this morning.

Although the price of these was fairly cheap, after reading through them I'm going to have to make a few corrections and change around a few things.

You can save some time hiring your article writing out, but like you said.. You are completely in control when you write your own articles and your ghost writer may not come across as an expert in their writing. It's very likely your targeted reader could pick up on the lack of true knowledge around the subject matter.

-More than likely you know your niche better than your writer. You want to convey your knowledge and expertise in your niche. That'll keep your readers coming back and make them comfortable buying from your site.
-I don't have a ton of articles under my belt, but...I have definitely found that the more I write the easier it gets.

-I would almost suggest getting some free in cheap PLR and use it for article ideas or to get your writing juices flowing. You don't necessarily have to rewrite PLR to get value from it, just use it for ideas or to get through writers block when it happens.

All and all, Whether or not you write your own or farm it out comes down to your own personal situation. I think there's a time and a place for both.

Writing your articles will be the best way to go, whether you can afford a writer or not..

When you do the writing, you have more control over what will be written. You can be more original. And most of all, because you're the owner, you are more knowledgeable of your business's subject.

More or less, you can add more of "you" into the article.

I guess it all depends on the person, though.
