Hey everyone,

Fathers Day is June 21st. How do you guys prep for these holidays to cash in?
I've seen published lists of these holidays for us internet marketers to prepare for, and to optimize our strategies to make the most of the increased traffic that results from these "special days".

What do you guys do to prep for these?

What are your strategies?

What have you seen work?

What doesn't work?

One of my sites is a beer brewing kit site and this is primarily a "guys hobby" so I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestion for preparing for the increase in web searches for things like "Gifts for Dads", etc.

Just wondering because I'd love to make the most of the increase in web traffic for fathers day.

Hey Jason,

The best way to target that market for your site is to add the right keyword phrases in your META keywords tag, then write a couple of articles about how nice a gift your kit would make for a Father's Day gift, or something like that.

There are a million and one ways to target the Father's Day market. Put up a site or blog with the right kind of stuff, and people will search for it. You can also sell products on eBay or something too, say from a wholesale company. But you will still have to target keywords and phrases for the market.

It really comes down to advertising. Your site/product is alone on the internet without advertising. Referring to your niche.

Mary is right.. million and one ways. In my experience, the majority of families that buy online for Fathers Day go straight to Amazon.com for a variety of products. It makes sense to capitalize on the Amazon traffic and a large majority of IMers usually place ads on Amazon.

Another method, but less effective, is to contact owners of niche sites within the same niche and place ads on their sites. If not ads - natural backlinks. The trick is to create a campaign and split the sales.

Some IMers will create an Amazon store. Some do pretty good with a good domain name and promotion. FathersDayForDad.com is available.

Thanks for the input. A good long term strategy would probably have a niche site for each of the holidays. Could probably (possibly) have an increase in sales around these holidays for each in that holiday niche.

Could probably use the same template just use amazon to populate each with the appropriate items?
