Default Offline Marketing For Online Businesses...

Hi All,

Do any of you advertise your online business in offline media such as newspapers, magazines etc. I've heard its a great way to advertise to highly targeted audiences.

I've never done this myself, and I was wondering if people here have, and how successful was this type of marketing?

Shane.

Shane - I never have either, but I've always thought about it. The local news channel often has a featured website. I've often wondered what it would take to get a website featured and how much traffic this could generate for a site like.....marketersspaceforum.com??

I may investigate and see how they decide on what website they feature?

A feature on a website that helps people learn how to earn money online, could have a big following considering the state of our financial stability?

I'm curious to hear if others have had success with this strategy.

Great topic Shane!

Jason

I did a very small test sample a few months ago. I did a direct mail to some local business owners that I knew had websites, but that didn't have any opt-in list on their site. I had hopes that it would work, but I didn't get any responses.

Then - I had a new baby and didn't follow up with anything else. My loss - but I think it could really work if done correctly.

I think there is still a bit of a stigma (maybe partially earned) against online only businesses. A brick and click business seems more reliable because there are locations to visit, but it can be hard to track down the owner if an online deal goes south. I can see how if used correctly offline advertising could work. Advertising an online boat parts dealer in a boating magazine, and things like that. marketersspaceforum.com would be a good fit for marketing magazines or a direct mail campaign to advertising agencies. I would not recommend putting an ad in my local paper for it though. Targeted is definitely the way to go for advertising offline.

Aheismann, I think your right about not advertising in the local papers (to start with anyway). Advertising in a magazine for a specific niche is probably the best way to do this as its a more targeted audience.

Hello Shane,Well one must carefully choose the offline media,i don't think there is much success with it.Maybe a few selected magazines related to internet with very wide range of circulation can help.
