Hi All,

With all of the talk of doom and gloom in other industries, I was wondering if the downturn in the worldwide economy is affecting IM businesses?

Have members here noticed any major changes in sales, profits, customer behaviour etc., and what Internet Marketing\online activities, if any, do you believe are 'recession proof', or will be least affected during this downturn?

That's an interesting question Shane. You definetley hear a lot about retail sales being down, auto makers setting record low sales, everybody laying off, etc.

I thought it was interesting though that google actually beat its earning projections.

Google seems to be doing well while others like Yahoo are struggling.

Hi Shane,

As far as I know, there aren't any markets that are recession proof. If it gets like the great deression, no one will buy much except for the rich because they won't have money to through away.

BUT, it is good going right now because people are seeking to earn money online, especially since the unemplayment rate is up so high. I know some of my sales have picked up. Most of the products I sell have to do with the "Make money online niche". Some of the other niches aren't doing so well though.

Here are a couple I know that are going thru the roof:

Weightloss
Fitness
Alternative madicine
Debt Consolidation
Credit repaire
Anything to do with Taxes (believe it or not)
And most other finacial products.

Lol they are on the up at the moment, but I wouldn't depend on that too much longer.

I am not sure but i guess the internet marketing has also suffered due to the global economic crisis.I know of a site where i was participating as a contestant and the prize money for 11 members was $250,000 to be distributed equally.However,after 3 months of a 11 month contest they closed midway as their sponsors backed out citing eceonomic recession.
