What specifically do you want to know about affiliate marketing and forum marketing?
I ask because both types of marketing are very broad and would take forever to type out in a post here. Are there specific areas that you want to learn about?
As far as some good affiliate sites paying you for your work goes, yes there are quite a few. Clickbank is one of them. There are many more sites too that have clients that pay you well over 30%-50% commissions, sometimes even more. I think Clickbank pays once a month if I'm not mistaken, but there are some that pay immediately.
What you can do with these types of affiliate products is to run traffic to the owner's products sites or salespages, and when people buy the product, that owner sends the buyer the product, and then sends you a commission.
You can run traffic to these sites fairly easy by using article marketing where you write an article, submit it to some of the top article directories, and the Search Engines list your article in their listings. Then the traffic comes after that depending on how the article places in the SEs. Writing good solid reviews for each product works well too. You get a domain name and hosting, put up a wordpress blog, write the reviews, and then post them to your blog. The SEs will start indexing your blog usually right away. You can always drive traffic to the blog as you wait for the SEs to index your pages, and to bring in more buyers.
Using Pay-Per-Click helps to drive immediate traffic to sites/blogs as well, but you need to be careful with useing it because you can spend quite a bit of money on your campaigns if you don't know what you're doing.
Forum marketing is more about getting people to know who you are, getting people to trust you, building credibility, and networking. You can do this by offering good solid information by the means of posting good content on forums.
Some people will tell you to go post your affiliate links or your product links in your posts. That's the wrong way to go about forum marketing. Matter of fact, people view self promotion in this manner as spam, and you don't want people to view you as a spammer. You can get banned, or worse yet, sites will blacklist you where you can't register on some of the forums. I know this forum has spam prevention, and taps into a well know site that records IP addresses that are blacklisted in a database. Then every time someone registers to MSF, MSF checks out that particular database to see if that new user is a known spammer before it will allow someone to finish the registration process.
It can be a real killer. This is why it isn't recommended to go spam forums with your links and adverts.
In forum marketing, you want o get people to recognize you as an authority, and as someone they can trust. Once you get that, they will and do start to follow you by clicking on your signature files.
Plus, some forums like this one have advertising forums or classifieds sections in them where you can post your ads. Some are free to post, and some are a paid to post deal. This forum is free to post at the mopment.
