Post Best Marketing Books

I know, there are a million and one marketing books out there, but knowledge is power. So I thought I would ask the question of what everyone's favorite marketing book are.

I was turned on to marketing books by my employer during a college internship. This man had an entire wall of the office building devoted to business books, and still more would come in the mail each day. He had even written one of his own, though it was little more than the collection of best thoughts from many books. Still, as an avid reader, I left there with the appreciation of learning from others mistakes. I've just ordered a couple more books from Amazon, including the classic "Guerrilla Marketing" by Jay Levinson.

My favorite marketing book, though more of a business book, has been "Who Moved my Cheese" by Spencer Johnson M.D. It could just be that it reads more like a bedtime story than a business book, but it does make you think

I have to agree about "Who Moved My Cheese?" I recommend reading that and then re-reading every couple years or when you've gone though some significant changes. I learned to appreciate that book even more the second time I read it. You'll pull new things from it each time you read it.

Another favorite of mine is "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" By Steven Covey. Great book, I should really re-read this one to

Great topic to Post!!

Hey aheismann,

Lol that's funny you should bring that book up. We used to have a thread here that discussed it, and I belive I also posted one on the Warrior Forum at one time. It's a powful but simple book - well worth the read.

There are a few others I like. The Bible is one of them believe it or not. Think and grow rich, Napoleon Hill, and Barnum Brothers ( I believe that's what it was). The latest one I read was by Mark Joyner. Actually, I've read several of his - The Irresistable Offer, Simpleology: The Simple Science of Getting What You Want, MindControlMarketing... How Everyday People are Using Forbidden Mind Control Psychology and Ruthless Military Tactics to Make Millions Online, and The Great Formula: for Creating Maximum Profit with Minimal Effort just to name a few.

I have to agree with Mary the Bible is for sure the first Marketing/PR/MLM "Bible" in the history of mankind...talking about viral marketing "they" basically invented it...
I like Barnum (are you talking about the Circus Mogul) myself great PR stunts and I enjoyed Marc joyner too

Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is most probably the most overrated book in the history but maybe thats just me...

my fav. right now is: How to Get Lots of Money for Anything - FAST, by Stuart Lichtman & Joe Vitale
dont get tricked by the title its actually about goal setting and reaching your goals...

Hey Karsten?

Is that link an affiliate link?

If so, you can't post it in the thread.

If you guys post something like "Not an affiliate link" or something to that nature I won't have to ask anymore. That will be very helpful to me, Jason, and the other mods when we get them.

Thanks ...

Hey Karsten,

I appreciate your honest opinion. I obviously like the book so I'm just curious as to why you think it's overrated. Nothing personal, just curious

Hey Karsten,

Lol watch out that your toes don't catch fire or something. My brothin in law said when I invited him to church the first time that his toes were going to catch fire because he hasn't been there since he got married.

Btw, there are many people who got a lot from that book! I know it's mainly for leaders or people who want to become leaders. Perhaps that's why it didn't set you on fire!
