What matters most if you ever want to have a successful one in a million business
I've been around the block a few times since I've been making money online. I've watched many people launch businesses, products, services, and massive online companies. BUT I've only seen a selected few that actually came up with a fantastic idea and turn it into a one in a million business.
What do I mean by that one in a million business?
I'm referring to the big companies we see online that have made their sites or service successful monsters in the online industry like Google, Amazon, MySpace, etc ... I'm not necessarily talking about Internet Marketers who've managed to have some success with a couple of products. Some people get lucky and are automatically declared a guru or they are claiming themselves as gurus.
I'm refering to those people who come up with unique ideas of things that's never been heard of before, who take a chance or risk by implimenting the idea, and push on to the goal.
Here are a few things I think everyone should know if they truly want a shot at a successful one in a million business.
- Think of something that has never been done before. Something that is toally unique to the internet. Something that is a step beyond what we know is possible, and take a leap into what can be in the furture.
Most marketers will tell you not to try to reinvent the wheel. To be honest with you, I say hogwash! How in the devil do you think the successful got successful in the first place?
They took an idea they came up with, took the risk and implimented that idea, and then arrived at a new level in their business!
- BUT this takes a lot of work and skill to pull off something that's never been done before. One of the tricks of the trade is to know who your target market(s) is. This is the group of people that will bite on your offer the most, or the group of people who has the most need for what you are offering.
It pays to know what your target market is before you do anything else. This requires research as to what your specific market is searching for. Once you know that your idea will reach the masses, and help that group take their business or pleasures to the next level, then you can go to #3.
- Another trick of the trade is to get the right backers or sponsors that will help you market your idea to your target market, not just the public. It does not pay to go it alone! Trust me on this one. Any successful business owner offline or on will tell you that they wouldn't be so successful if other people didn't help them get from point A to point B. That's a fact!
This is true whether it be the bankers who loan you money to start your business, your family who give up their time to be with you and who support you in the ups and downs, your friends and co-workers who want to help you succeed, the sponsors, your future prospects , or simply whoever. They all can be used to help you get from point A to point B.
- Pitch your product or service to the big dogs and get the biggest companies you can to get the word out about your product or service. Draw out a strategy and get everyone involved to do whatever they can within a specific amount of time.
You'd be surprise to know how many Internet Marketers got to where they are now by gathering as many people (the best people for the job) together to market to the masses at the same time. If you ever saw it in action, it would make your head spin!
And again, I'm not talking about simple product or service launches. I'm talking about the groups of people that actually create new markets, pioneer the next big thing, and score big on the returns!
This is why you hear many marketers tell you that it pays to get good JV partners. Not affiliates only either, partners that will make your business or break it before it gets on its feet.
Can you imagine what would happen if you recruited about ten of the biggest, brightest, and best people or companies to back you up and support you and your new idea/service/product? If you can, now think about what an army like this could do for you!
- THINK BIGGER! Don't rest on what other marketers tell you. Step out of the box where they put you, and tell you where you need to stay. Step into another universe!
YOU ARE NOT A PART OF THE HERD! You are more intelligent then you give yourself credit for.
At the moment I am launching 2 different forums. One's in a very competative market. This marketing forum to be exact. Now I haven't pitched this forum to any big named companies, but we will here as soon as we get a couple more things done with the other forum.
The other forum is unique, and we will be doing unique things with it. One of the things we have planned is going straight to some of the top dogs in the country ... the politicians, and challenging them to a duel. Then it's a matter of notifying the media so they go public with it.
Yes, it helps to have the right group od supporters for the right job, so you get the backing you need to pull it all off. For instance, I can gather almost any group of people together, and get them to help promote this marketing forum without a problem. This really requires a mass of people to get it going, and for these people to recommend the site. But that doesn't mean I rule out the media too. The media has it's place in everything.
The other forum will work out better with getting more prominent people and the media involved first, then go with the masses.
See what I'm saying?
Never ever be stuck on one thing, and use the same tactic for everything. If you do, nine cases out of ten you will always leave something on the table, and your buisness will never be where it can be.

I am very surprised no one in the forum commented on this post lol.
I thought it was one of my better ones that would create a lot of discussion.

Well I thought it was great Mary . It would interesting to see where our society would be if you removed some of the big dreamers and inovadors that choose to truly think outside the box and not take no for an answer.
Some of the greats are great because they wouldn't take no for an answer and persistantly looked for a a different way of succeeding if plan A failed and plan B and plan....
I like to think we are all capable of producing amazing results, we just don't know how to unlock our potential or aren't willing to do what it takes. (Me inlcuded).

Re: What matters most if you ever want to have a successful one in a million business
You know, JB was onto something here. I forgot I posted this thread.
If you think about it, we would still be in the stone ages if we didn't have people stepping out of the box.
Just take Internet Marketing or general marketing, we wouldn't be in the positions we are in now. I know I am one that thinks out of the box, and get very large visions (scope on vicion). I never follow the heard.
But then again, I have a problem narrowing my vision where conventional people can balance that in me.
Hope that makes sense ...

Mary this is exactly why I created AP ... It is 100% unique and no other website can match what it offers. I know that makes some retards angry when I say that but it is the truth.
I wanted in no way, shape, or form to follow the "crowd" .. I was also told not to re-invent the wheel but sorry I wanted to and that is what I did... Thus far AP has proved to be more powerful than sites that have been around for 5+ years (you know the sites I am talking about)..
I think you made a great post ...
James
