Three things I found interesting:

1.) PPC will decline as the ROI just isn't there any more.
2.) SEO will become more important as PPC declines
3.) (This one may shape how I develop my business) Video Marketing becomes much, much huger. YouTube is now the 2nd biggest search engine in the world (surpassing Yahoo.)

Thanks for sharing. I agree that video is THE place to go if you can and if your marketing situation fits that mold. I know people, including myself, that go to YouTube to find news, information on products, videos from musicians, and just fun stuff. I definitely think you could use video to market websites without a doubt; you just have to make the viewers want to click and view.

I'm like you Heathcole. I typically will go to youtube for info on products, if I want to watch some music videos, find a recipe, etc.

Personally I'd rather watch a video on how to make chicken wings, for instance than find a traditional recipe. I think video will continue to get bigger and bigger IMHO.

Learning how to get some video online is one of my goals for '09.

The one problem with YouTube is that is so vastly enormous and it's often difficult to wade through all the good and bad videos until you find what you're looking for. It can be a real time waster. If you're trying to market your product, service or web site, you need to make sure your video stands out (is unique), is easy-to-find and is of sufficiently good quality. You have to draw them to YouTube first before you can get them to click through to your site. There's so much garbage on YouTube - so yours really needs to be as professional as possible.

Anything you hear, you are likely to forget fast. Anything you read, you may retain for a longer duration, but anything you see and hear both, youare likely to retain for a much longer duration. I guess that is why video is overtaking the written word. There is no doubt that the future belongs to sites such as youtube which give yo the best audio-visual effects.

Thanks for the information.Already your predictions are coming out to be true.PPC is declining and sooner or later it has to fade away or become non-existent.With everyone after SEO it's evident that SEO is of paramount importance in these times.However,you tube's success is a bit surprising to me,hope they improve.At the moment am not very comfortable with it.Filtering out bad videos is a bit problematic for me.

It's really very shocking that you tube has surpassed yahoo.However,yes you are absolutely right that SEO will be more important than PPC.Nowadays no body talks of PPC,everywhere people are working on SEO.
