One way to make money online these days is to make mobile apps for iPhone, mobile games, and other downloadable things like ringtones. They are not hard to market because you can ride the mobile wave at the moment, plus they are not the expensive or hard to create.

This market is really huge!

I saw where Joel Cumm makes about $10,000 per day or more from a simple Fart app for the iPhone. Thank Charles Smith for remoinding me about these apps. I know Robert Plank sent out a newsletter a few months ago mentioning this market, and how hot it is at the moment. Matter of fact, I believe he has or had a product out about how to make mobile apps or iPhone apps. He even told us where to go to have them created cheaply.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm checking into it. it is worth checking out while this market is still hot.

If I find out any specifics, I'll post them here.

I was thinking about maybe inviting the members here into a mobile App project. What do you guys think about that? There aren't too many members here at the moment, so it won't be that bad of a cut for everyone. I think it would be a great way to profit share myself.

I'm a little scared to ask, but what is the fart app?? $10,000 a day sounds like a nice living!

How long do hot trends like this usually last? Are they on their way out by the time people start scrammbling to build applications?

I wish I had AT&T around this area, I'm a huge Apple fan, great company and products, plus they're inovative, unlike MS.

It's an app that sounds like a Fart. But I wouldn't laugh too much. Joel's making a killing from this one app alone.

As far as how long do trends like this last goes, it's hard to say. But I will say that I don't think the mobile market will digress any. It will be moving forward, so there will be different companies getting in on it.

Apple iTunes is one of the bigger ones, and to make an app for them is simply a matter of having iTunes. It may be the same for the other companies as well like AT&T too.

Think about it, Sprint, Altell, Verison, etc .. are all coming out with their own apps like that new 3G Blackbury. If you make one app, you can make the one app for different companies just like software where you have PC and Apple apps.

I personally think the potential is never ending because technology is always moving forward.

I checked out Joel Comms blog and videos about his app on YouTube and was surprised to see how simple this app is.

I'll take both to be honest with you.

I assumed most of the people who post in this thread would be marketers, but I'll take someone who can program too.

If not, we will have to find a programmer, and pay them to create the app for us. If all of us pitch in together, it shouldn't cost us much at all. Actually, just a few bucks beause they aren't that hard to create from what I understand.

If we can get a programmer, he or she can program it, and the marketers market the heck out of it, and we all win.

Okay guys, if you are interested great! I'd like to get a couple of more people on board with this idea before we make any decissions. BUT, there are a couple of things we can do while we're waiting to see if other members want to join us.

For starters, we can do some research in these areas:

• Find out if there is an app that will let use create a mobile app oniline.
• Find out what are the easiest apps to make.
• Scout around to see if we can come up with a unique idea, and then see what it'll take for us to either create an app that will impliment whatever idea we came up with or have it created by a programmer.

So, who can help with the research?

Please post in the thread if you can, and what part of the research you plan to do to help.

If we need to take this into a private forum, we can do that. I highly aticipate it at a later date like when we start posting the researched info or summaries.

hmm .. I don't know at the mo0ment Stacy. I don't know if we can create an app with this program, then sell it on places like itunes, etc ... This is what we will want to do to hit the masses. At least that's what I had in mind.

If you have the time, can you check out their TOS to make sure the apps can be used comercially and that they remain our property?

If you don't have the time, that's fine. Perhaps someone else whi is interested will do it.

I'd believe that could be true. Not that I've created successful mobile phone apps in the past but... I'd say your potential for success depends on how much market research you do, the quality of your product, having a solid business plan, etc, etc.

Most business ventures do fail but you gotta just do what you can to increase your chances of success.

Secondly, that is a true fact, but we don't plan on failing! Matter of fact I don't look at failures as "failures". I take on the Thomas Edison view where it's not that we failed X amount of times, but it's that we've managed to find the X amount of things that don't work. This just means we have many more opportunities that will.

Gather a group to create Mobile applications is great idea, and you need more than ideas brainstorming, you need to scan the market, don't forget there is Android, Blackberry .. etc, they are walking Apple's way, so make sure you look at them

I recently purchased my first iPod touch. I was amazed at all the aps available for purchase and for free. I found that the ones that gave you a basic version for free were the most marketable. You get people hooked on the ap for free and then when they get to the point where they want to move forward or do more in the ap, they will want to buy it. A teaser of sorts...

Sounds like a lucrative idea. There was this App for the iPhone that was just a picture of a gem that sold for 100,000$. The creator the APP made 300,000$ off a stupid little app like that. Lol – ingenious.

Just think what smart phones will be in 10 years, or even 5 years. You don't have to go back in time very far to when todays cell phones / smart phones have more memory, processor power, etc. than computers of that time.

I'm to young to consider myself old but my first computer didn't have a modem, didn't come with a disk drive, no speakers, etc. I think it was a 486.

It was built by someone I worked with and I paid him $400 for it! You can get a pretty capable laptop for about that price now at Walmart.

Sorry I'm rambling. I feel old when I think about how much things have changed.
