Default Post your best outsourcing tips

So far I have only used outsourcing for rather small projects like get a banner done - help with some script etc - even though you can judge a person by the comments its kind of a "you never know what you will get game"

But I found one tip rather useful - post something in your project description like "please use the code xzy in your response so I know you agreed to my specifications" - that way you could eliminate the automatic answers (since they usually wont include this code)

What are your tips??

Here's the my best tip for anyone who is going to outsource:

#1 rule - Always check people out before you hire them to do a job!

Do a little research to see how they are to work with. If you can get recommendations from people you know, by all means follow their lead first!

How do you guys (and girls) keep track of outsourced tasks and the exchanged emails?
I was thinking of using a free helpdesk script or even something like the projectmanager script from icansoft (big M)

Hi Karsten,

Yeah, either one of them will work.

I also use a spread sheet to keep track of names, dates, sites, jobs, payments, etc ...

Karsten,

No it doesn't, but it does cut down to the chase.

I know circumstances arise that may prevent someone from getting things on time, etc ... That's the nature of this business.

In the end though, the recommended people who run into a problem delivering on time or whatever will usually make that up by over-delivering, or cutting their prices. The good ones will.

Yes that is true and right thing to do in avoiding automated bots, however coming to outsourcing,it's better to give small works and judge people and then outsourcing more to them.
