Which sports are you into?
What sports does everyone in here like? Do you like to play them? Watch them? I'm a huge fan of football (soccer), but I watch and play basketball a lot too.

Re: Which sports are you into?
I used to play football, basketball, some track, in HS.
Now I'm trying to be a MN Vikings fan but they make that challenging , I like watching MMA, and I got into watching the Olympics this year.
I'm trying to be a runner, I ran two 1/2 marathons last summer and I'm hoping to do my 3rd this spring.

Re: Which sports are you into?
Wow, marathons, how hard is it to train for one of those? Must be really tough. I just watched "Run Fat Boy, Run" and it was about a guy who promised to run the London marathon. It's a comedy, you should check it out though.

Re: Which sports are you into?
I think I will check that movie out, it sounds firmiliar. I haven't done a full marathon, not sure if I will or not. Training for a 1/2 can be tough but you just add a little bit of mileage to your runs every week or so. Depending on what kind of shape your in you can train for a 1/2 marathon in 12 - 16 wks (or less if your in good shape).
I'm definetly not a super athlete or anything, it just takes persistance. Believe it or not, running will become theraputic after you get past the point where you can think about something besides....this sucks, I'm tired, I'm not even half-way done, etc. etc. lol.
Plus you get a huge sense of achievement when you get through it. I plan on running another 1/2 marathon in May so I'm gonna start doing a few runs a week.
Sorry you got me started. Long story short, I enjoy running and I'm looking forward to getting back into it.
Has running gotten very popular in your country as well?

You think that's bad, try being a Lions fan.
I'm a fan of the Detroit Lions (football), Detroit Tigers (baseball), Detroit Pistons (basketball), and Detroit Redwings (hockey). Not so much a fan of the sports themselves, but I like watching my teams.
I'm a huge fan of the Olympics too. I'm really looking forward to the Opening of the Vancouver Olympics next year. Something about the top level international competition is just inspiring and dramatic. And when else do you ever watch stuff like Water Polo and Curling?

Re: Which sports are you into?
Let me give my opinion, I love badminton game , in the past I used to play cricket as my first preference, my during my graduation I started to play badminton, and found it is very beneficial in order to survive at winter in India, because it produces a lot of heat and we can feel the heat even as the temperature is very low .
And your thighs become very stiff and muscles build harder, that’s the reason made me to quit cricket as my first preference,

I love watching hockey, cricket, soccer, tennis, basketball and squash.I love playing cricket and badminton which i used to play a lot in school and college. However,my number one sport is cricket as it is treated like a religion in my country and people turn into frenzy whenever a match is going on and indians win, there is no better sight than that.

Re: Which sports are you into?
My family all are big Minnesota Twins fans. We love baseball.
We're kinda torn in the football department. I'm a Steelers fan, but we also have fans for the Cowboys, Dolphins and Seahawks all in the same house.
I love to play basketball with my kids and we all have fun playing our own version of lacrosse in the backyard. Bowling is also a big draw especially in the winter months.

Re: Which sports are you into?
Hello. I am not that interested in soccer. I'm not sure as to where the thrill lies in, because whenever i watch soccer matches, i find that it's so hard for them to score a goal, and i get bored just waiting to see who actually GETS the first score. haha. Well, i'm interested in netball, floorball, hockey, american football and definitely track & field.

Sport is the part of everyone's life.
I want to play cricket most. Its famous all over the world except USA.
But if you look in other countries like Australia, New Zealand, West Indies, China, all loves cricket.
There are lots of scope and money in this sport.

I gotta admit I loved badminton to! I wish I could play it again. It was one of my favorites in PE class.
I've never played cricket but I'm sure it's fun.
Do any of you guys or gals do distant running? I'm training to run a 1/2 marathon in May (13 miles). I've done it twice before, two summers before. I've found running is theraputic and it's hard to not loose weight when you run 12 - 20 miles per week training. My goal is to run it in under 2 hrs this time. Hopefully I can do it.

I'd love to train for a marathon someday. Right now, I lift weights 9 months out of the year, and the other 3 months I run outdoors. When I run, I just do 3 miles/day.
