Sometimes I read what people put out there and call an "article" and I want to bang my head against the wall. It frustrates me for two main reasons.

First, I look at crappy articles as cyber litter. That's all it is when it doesn't provide any value to the reader. I see complaints all the time that EZA is getting too strict. My take on that is GOOD FOR THEM. It's about time they stopped taking every tossed together piece of crap. If they clean up their directory, they can acquire a much more prominent place on the web.

Second, I see it as people wasting their efforts. The crappy articles might get a 100 or so views and maybe a few click throughs. Big whoop! I can get a lot more views, a better CTR and more sales out of one well-written article that actually provides value. Plus, the chances of that article being syndicated to some very nice websites is much higher.

Maybe I'm looking it things the wrong way, but to me return on investment is much more important than quantity of content. I will get a much better return for my time in producing a great article than I will in producing 5 crappy litterbug articles.

My goal is to teach people that quality will win over quantity every day of the week. This is a tough goal because so many so-called "article marketers" are teaching quantity over quality.

What do you think? Do you practice quantity or quality in your article marketing?

Looking forward to any and all comments,
Tina

Email marketing is still a great way to build your online income. however, many people don't use it properly.

The problem that most people have with proper email marketing is creating the content that they need.

The fact is, there are 5 steps to email marketing success that you must have to succeed. Most people fail to follow through on it, or cheat their way through them. the one thing all of the steps have in common is needing high quality content. Now, you can use some cheap plr articles. however, that just won't do.

Instead, get some high quality articles. PLR is ok, as long as they are well written and researched. most plr isn't. otherwise hire a freelance writer, or write them yourself.

These articles can be used to create emails, a give away report or ebook, and build a website to build the list on. You also need unique articles to syndicate. these should be designed to drive people to your offer.

Don't delay any longer. get started, and good luck with your email marketing magic.

Building Your Virtual Assets

Too many people look at their content as an expense. They're either creating a time expense by writing all their content themselves or a monetary...

Too many people look at their content as an expense. They're either creating a time expense by writing all their content themselves or a monetary expense by outsourcing to a ghostwriter. This is the wrong way to look at it and if you do, you are fulfilling the trite marketing axiom of “leaving money on the table”.

Content is an asset, not an expense, and an asset means that it adds to your net worth. Assets grow in value over time. If you look at your content production in the right way, you can have a virtual empire in the time that many put up one simple website. This does not involve a lot of extra work, either, just proper planning and getting a little creative.

This article will focus on those of you who are creating your own content but the ideas can apply when outsourcing, as well, with a few tweaks. “Work smarter, not harder” is another adage we hear so often that most have stopped paying attention but it really is true, especially with your content creation.

When you first start to research your topic is where you should be planning your virtual empire. Many writers have told me that they research for ten to fifteen minutes (or more) and then write one article. They then go to spend another period of time researching the next keyword and so forth until they have ten articles to begin their initial website. Do you realize that this amounts to about 100 to 150 minutes of research for ten articles? That is an average of two hours, just to make a small website – and that's just the research!

Save yourself at least half the time by doing all of your research at once, before you ever start to write the content. Open a document and list all your keywords on the page. As you research and find good information, copy and paste the facts and ideas you find below each of the keywords that it applies to. When you find real authority sources on your topic, be sure to add the url to your research page so you can easily find it again if needed. It should take you no longer than an hour to do this for most topics.

By researching all at once, you will find that you have enough information to create far more than ten articles in the end. In that one hour, you will have learned more about your topic than you would by focusing in on only one keyword so this will give you an edge when writing. This should make your actual writing time less than it would be otherwise so you save even more time.

Once you have your ten articles (web pages) finished, don't think of these as the end of the line. Quality content can be used over and over again, leveraging the work you've already done into many other things. This doesn't just mean to submit the articles to directories, either, although that is an excellent way to make your content work harder. There are many other ways to use this content for your maximum benefit.

Ten articles of 500 words is 5000 words of content – you can easily excerpt parts from each one (or even use the entire piece) to compile a very nice report. Turn this into a PDF and use as a giveaway to entice subscribers to your list or submit it to the various PDF sharing sites with links back to your sites or product pages.

But you're not finished with that content or the research you've already completed. You did save that research document, didn't you? By combining paragraphs from the content you already created with new facts and ideas from your research, you should be able to come up with many more articles.

Take your content beyond your website and the directories by utilizing various web 2.0 properties such as Squidoo, HubPages and other similar sites. By combining pieces of several articles, you can easily create an entirely new article for these sites.

Have you attached a blog to your website? Take pieces of those articles created for the web 2.0 sites to use for blog posts. One of the best ways to do this is to take one idea that was mentioned and expand on it a bit in your blog, adding in personal experience and opinion. Since blog posts are usually shorter than full page articles, they don't take more than a few minutes to knock off a post whenever you want.

These are just a few of the easiest and fastest ways to build your content and get it all across the web. There are many more ways to get creative with what you already have including making slideshow presentations, videos, audio recordings...this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Remember, your content is an asset that will keep working for you for years to come. Treat it as such and plan for multiple uses for the best return on your investment.

Get Started with Correct Social Bookmarking Methods

Social Bookmarking is a great way to begin marketing your site. However, correct social bookmarking takes more than just spamming your url to...

Social Bookmarking is a great way to begin marketing your site. However, correct social bookmarking takes more than just spamming your url to hundreds of bookmarking sites.

Face reality here, spamming is any form of sending out mass links and adding no value to the people who see it. This works no matter what medium you use.

I am surprised at how many people fail to take advantage of the tools and power that the social bookmarking sites offer.
Instead follow correct social bookmarking procedures to succeed in building traffic, as well as love from the search engines.

Join in the community. Don't just post bookmarks. Instead, take time to make friends requests, follow other people's posts, boost posts you see, and leave comments on the posts that you really like, or that you really hate. ( a little controversy never hurt in this business. in fact, it can help you a lot)

Correct social bookmarking also means not just posting your own site. Bookmark your favorite forums ( like this one for example), or your favorite blog. ( while your at it, throw some bookmarks my way:rofl:)

After all, if they are sites that you like, others will like them too. When you build up your friend's list, they will see your latest posts, and jump in to help you out.

Today, I spent about 45 minutes on Digg. that didnt take very long. I made about 20 friends requests, commented on about 20 posts, dugg some posts that I found interesting, and only posted one Digg on my own site.

Actually, that took me longer than I normally spend to do it all, but I was recording a video on how to start online social bookmarking, for a blog post to help my readers.

Once that post was done, i went back to digg and submitted that one. ( the digg I did earlier was to a different domain, so shouldn't be a problem there.)

That's just an example that you can use to build your business easier and faster. When you spend a little time helping the community, you will have a better business all the way around. So start Digging, Mixxing it up and Stumbling your way to success today.

Should You Waste your time on Affiliate Promotions?

lately, i have been hearing a lot of negative talk about affiliate promotions. The general theme is that affiliate marketing is dead, or worthless.

Honestly, I don't see where all this is coming from. What is dying out is people being successful with spamming affiliate links, and building worthless sites that add no value.

This is what is getting affiliates a bad rap. Affiliate promotion is not about spamming the net, it is about providing valuable products to people that need them.

Personally, I have tried CPA, product creation, Adsense, and other forms of marketing websites. Over all the rest, I have made more consistent, and easier money doing affiliate promotions. The fact is, the reason people fail at affiliate promotions is because the do it all wrong.
Affiliate programs is nothing more than a way to monetize your site. in the end, it doesn't matter if it is your own product on a website or an affiliate product. What matters is that it is valuable to the visitors that come to your site.

Do affiliate programs give total control to someone else? not really. affiliate marketing is about choosing ads that you want to promote. if a product disapears, you simply replace the ad with another. You have total control over what you choose to promote.

The other great thing about affiliate promotions is that you don't have all the hassles of being a product owner. you don't need to worry over refunds, or placating pissed off customers.

Affiliate promotions are not going anywhere. Just keep plugging away at it and you can earn the success that you deserve. If you need some help learning affiliate promotions, check out a great affiliate training program that you can use to master any niche.

Recently I have been fielding a lot of questions about building traffic to different websites. There are so many ways to get traffic, which one should you turn to?

Article Marketing, Social bookmarking, Rss feeds, Video marketing, and social network marketing are all different ways that people build up their online business. However, you can't be a master at all of them. In fact, most people are lucky to master one or two.

Many people will tell you that in order to get traffic, you have to focus all of your energy on one method. however, didn't you ever hear the saying "never put all your eggs in one basket"?

by relying on only one traffic method of traffic, you short yourself. you could be leaving most of the money on the table. The best route is to pick one that is your primary method you use, and then suplement it with a combination of other strategies.

This confusion is what led me to creating the Traffic Formula. I took all the website traffic secrets that i knew and built a strategy to incorporate them. That is the real key to success. It is having a strategy and consistently following that strategy until it works.

Most people give it a few days or weeks. There is no quick fix or magic pill to making money online. it takes consistent work, and long term planning. It takes following a plan of action from start to finish, and then repeating that plan over and over again.

Get yourself a website promotion strategy and follow it through until it works. Once you do, you will find that building an online business that lasts is not as hard as it seems.

Bookmarking The Proper Way

I know many think bookmarking is just getting some crappy software and using it to spam hundreds of sites left and right. Well the bad news is this is the wrong way to do bookmarking and you should be ashamed of yourself for spamming sites.

The proper way is to register, login and fill out your profile... While you are in there see if the site has any groups or a invite friend request feature. Join some groups and make some friends.

Now when bookmarking make sure you only do 3 - 4 a day per site and do not just bookmark all your own stuff. Bookmark one of your sites and then bookmark a funny site, news, cooking, or something of general interest.

Mix and match it and put one of your urls in-between these sites. By doing this it looks less spammy and it actually provides value to the site that is allowing you to post your link.

Participate in these sites, do not just slap urls left and right. Login them and take the time to browse around. Supporting these sites and participating in them will help the site owner keep the site around longer and that is good for you and your links.

Offline Techniques to Increase Traffic to Your Website

You have the most effective and highly ranked website to market your online business. But that is not proving to be sufficient in gaining the traffic...

You have the most effective and highly ranked website to market your online business. But that is not proving to be sufficient in gaining the traffic you had intended to achieve… Surprised? Have you given a thought to marketing your business offline?

Well, most online business owners don’t! You were so engrossed in promoting your business online that you completely forgot about the offline techniques. If you have not been using offline techniques to draw traffic to your website, then you are indeed missing out way too much traffic and business for your website.

Marketing your online business offline is still very low-cost and a very affordable way of business marketing. These offline marketing techniques when used effectively can bring in a lot of traffic to your website that you might not have achieved through online marketing.

But why market your business offline to ultimately lead visitors to your websites online?? Well, most people consider the internet as a land full of banners and pop ups that distract them. Therefore when you reach out to this group of people through offline techniques, you succeed in grabbing their attention and bringing them back to your website.

The most basic offline method of business marketing is by the word of mouth. Seize all opportunities at seminars and social gatherings to promote your product and draw visitors to your website. Newspapers and magazines are the best ways to reach out to vast audiences irrespective of whether they are related to your field or not. Placing ads in newspapers and magazines will surely draw a huge traffic to your website. Just like you write and post articles on online article directories, you can also distribute articles relating to your website to targeted newspapers and magazines.

You could also use stickers and badges made with the logo and link to your website distributed in the neighborhood. By creating a mailing list, you can bring new prospects to your online business. The internet allows interested people to directly key in your promoted website link. A leading offline business marketing strategy been in use for decades is the use of business cards.

Get your own business cards made and ensure that you distribute them to as many people as you know. You can also have your friends and family to distribute your cards in their circle of contacts. You can get many free and low cost offline promotional items at vistaprint.

You should make use of all the above mentioned offline marketing techniques. This will not be very difficult as the offline techniques are not very expensive. It is important to ensure you include the link to your website in all offline marketing strategies to start with www.yoursite.com instead of using http:// make it as easy as possible to remeber.

Most people will not prefer looking up for your service on the search engines, but when you provide your website link to the offline world you will guide the visitors directly to your website. Once there, if your visitors find the website interesting and useful for them, they will definitely spread word about your website. Now you can be sure of increased traffic to your website from the offline community.

How to Increase Your Website and Blog Traffic without Using Capital

Unlike many other webmasters who spend large amounts of money promoting their sites and blogs to increase the traffic, you can now utilize the free...

Unlike many other webmasters who spend large amounts of money promoting their sites and blogs to increase the traffic, you can now utilize the free methods to generate traffic you need. Website traffic will steadily increase once your site or blog is search engine friendly.

SEO techniques play a major role in optimizing your website or blog for the search engines. Optimizing your site will only get you so far. You will have to market your website. Apart from only submitting your site or blog to the search engines, you should consider the less popular web directories. This will boost up your website ranking on the major search engines like Google Yahoo and Bing.

If you plan to run affiliate products on your site or blog, it might help you to advertise it to increase traffic and sales. To achieve this, you can submit your program details on various directories for affiliate programs. You can also advertise the affiliate programs on your site on related websites, blogs and forums by contacting the other site owners.

You can also format your website design to accommodate a links or partnership page where you can include the links of other non competing websites in the same field. In return, you can request the owners of related sites to include your website URL on their sites. This is known as reciprocal linking, and is still a somewhat good method for increasing the marketing exposure for your site. It is better to try and get one-way links to related sites, but reciprocal linking can help you in a long term linking strategy.

Forums can play an important role in online discussions. You are sure to find many discussion forums related to your products or services. Post thoughtful responses on forums related to your website. You can also leave your website link with your response in order to draw some traffic to your site. Your site link will be visible in your signature file on every post you make.

Along with discussion forums, you can also visit blogs on topics related to your website. An important aspect of marketing yourself through blogs is posting comments. Take the time to make perceptive comments on related blogs and ensure to leave a link along with your comment just like you did in the discussion forums to increase traffic to your site.

Have you given a thought to traffic exchanges? This is an easy way to increase traffic to your website. In this strategy, you are given credits for every website you view, and other members are given credits every time they view your site. With traffic exchanges, the content of your website is crucial in determining the traffic to your site. Make sure you include some valuable content regarding your topic, or better yet, give something of real value away for free, to entice Traffic exchange members to sign up to your list. The better content you have, the more visitors will visit your website leading to an increase in the traffic.

You can also draw traffic to your website by creating a discussion forum that invites more people to question and comment on the topic of discussion in your website. When people actively participate in your website, they will return repeatedly to communicate with others involved in the discussion. To keep visitors on your site active, you will have to update your content regularly. You can also greatly increase traffic to your website by advertising on the many free classifieds ads sites.

I was thinking of specific ways to promote our Forum, and ended up putting up a new blogger blog. I know, I should be installing it on my own server, but I figured it's small, and besides, it means another link from a totally different IP block. This helps when linking your sites. Matter of fact, the more servers that are involved, the better!

The first article I posted is addressed to new people that are just starting out with their new online business. You know, the ones that want to jump in with both feet expecting to make money without planning.

The article is posted here: Marketers Space Forum Blog

The title of the article is - How Do People Get Started Making Money Online?

If you want to learn how to actual start building a good solid business and make money year after year, it'll pay for you to read the article.

Don't take any shortcuts. You'll end up with nothing in the end!

I'm finally starting to get rid of the fat in my diet. No, I'm not talking about chips and ice cream. I'm talking about all of the distractions and time wasters that are keeping me from moving forward in my business as I can and should.

Yes, I'm coming to grips with many of the obvious time-suckers (catching a show on TV, doing puzzles - which I love - etc.) and the less obvious ones as well (checking email, hanging out at forms 'learning' new stuff etc.).

It's time for me to get serious about my business. In my quest to develop some strategies that will really work, I stumbled upon a resource that has been changing my life.

I've talked about it in-depth in a recent blog post:

New Free Duelz Community Challenges Opponents To Debate Hard Core Topics

Kurt Melvin and Mary Murtha announced today that they just opened a new Dueling forum where anyone can challenge anyone to a duel to debate hard core...

Kurt Melvin and Mary Murtha announced today that they just opened a new Dueling forum where anyone can challenge anyone to a duel to debate hard core topics, called www.Duelz.com

Murtha says it is a proven fact that most people have issues or topics they like to debate. Politics, religion, money, sex, and who the biggest hunks are on TV are just a few that come to mind. We invite anyone who likes to challenge others to come, bring their partner and duel with us.

Kurt and Mary stated that the primary reason for opening a duelz community is to offer people a free place to challenge someone else outside of other mainline forums such as the bigger marketing, niche, and gaming communities.

“We found that most forums or communities are loaded with various threads where argumentative people challenge and debate other members of the community which lead threads off topic, and forum owners scratching their heads. We wanted to offer an opportunity where debaters can challenge others in a duel without the fear of being banned or deleted. “

In their eyes, this is a perfect medium for argumentative people, and a solution to forum Administrators and owners for keeping their communities cleaner and on topic.

If you are a serious debater or just love to argue, join this community, bring you opponents, and debate until your heart is content without repercussions.

To register, click <a href="http://duelz.com/register.php" target="blank">Duelz Registration</a>

If you are a frustrated forum owner or administrator who wants to clean their forum up, refer the argumentative people to the <a href="http://duelz.com" target="blank">Duelz Forum</a>, and make your headaches go away!

Part 2 of LSA and LSI

Before proceeding further, it is helpful to examine the concepts of synonymy and polysemy. Yes, these are more odd-looking words, but they have presented challenges to the science of LSA and LSI.

Synonymy:

Synonyms are different words that describe the same idea. For example, the words auto, roadster, vehicle, dragster, hot rod, “wheels,” and automobile alldescribe an internal combustion travel method we call a car. Synonymy is the
practice of using multiple synonyms to describe a single idea.

Under current (non-LSI) search engine rules, a search for “car” might actually fail to display relevant web pages that deal with auto, roadster, vehicle, dragster, hot rod, wheels, or automobile if those exact words do not appear on the page! Under LSI, all those synonyms form an interconnected index of words that leave no
doubt to the search engines that the web page is about cars. That's why LSI is important.

Let's repeat that. Once the search engines begin relying heavily on LSA and LSI to determine the relevance of your web pages, and your web page about cars contains the word “car” twenty times, people searching for auto, vehicle, hot rod, dragster or roadster probably won't find your page.

On the other hand, if you rewrite your page in the LSI style to include the synonyms auto, roadster, vehicle, hot rod, “wheels,” automobile, dragster and other synonyms for “car,” the page should rank well for the word “car,” and may even rank well for some of those synonyms.

“Hot rod, wheels, dragster and roadster” are all car synonyms that imply fast and powerful cars. Depending on the content of your page, the search engine's LSI program might also determine that your page is related to “car racing” too!

Imagine how powerful it would be to be ranked simply on a concept that is extrapolated from the words on your page!

Polysemy:

Polly who? Not who, but what.

Polysemy is the situation in which one word has multiple meanings. A non LSI search engine will probably return multiple but unrelated pages in which the word is used in the wrong context.

A classic example of this concerns snakes, specifically the python. If you are researching the python, your search results will undoubtedly contain multiple listings for the British comedy troupe Monty Python. The “Monty Python” pages
are relevant for the word “python,” but not for the concept of “snake.”

If the same search engine used LSI, it would know that python refers to a long constrictor snake. It would also know that Monty Python refers to comedy. The search results would display information about snakes and omit the Monty Python references.

Yes, that capability exists now by excluding the word Monty from the search query, such as: “python -Monty.” However, you are doing the LSI in your head when you do that, because the non-LSI search engines are currently too
uneducated to know that Monty Python is not a snake!

Another example is the word “tree.” There are many types of people who would search for the word “tree,” such as botanists, genealogists, and computer scientists. However, each of those people would expect very different search
results! The computer scientist doesn't want web pages about oaks and pines, just as the botanist's time will be wasted on pages related to family trees.

Humans can very quickly determine what the topic is if only synonyms are used (synonymy). Likewise, humans can easily determine which word meaning is the correct one by the context (polysemy). Teaching computers to do this as easily is quite a challenge.

Part 3 of LSA and LSI will be posted ina a couple of days.

What Is All the Mystery About LSA and LSI?

Like many acronyms, LSI and LSA have no meaning until you know what words those initials stand for. They sound like the names of popular television...

Like many acronyms, LSI and LSA have no meaning until you know what words those initials stand for. They sound like the names of popular television crime dramas, such as the fictitious “LSI: Miami” or “LSA:London.”

That's not such a bad analogy, because LSA and LSI are mysteries to most internet marketers. Not only that, but failure to use these important concepts would be a crime! Let's try to get to the bottom of these unsolved mysteries.

LSI means Latent Semantic Indexing. LSA means Latent Semantic Analysis.

That didn't help much, did it?

Look at it this way, LSI and LSA are concepts that are better understood through examples. Before looking at examples, however, let's look for clues in the words that make up these acronyms.

Latent Semantic Indexing

Latent

Definition:

Latent means “dormant, quiescent, not readily visible, or hidden.” It refers to qualities, abilities, or talents that may be currently hidden or unknown, but which might be revealed in the future.

Examples

1. His latent musical talent didn't emerge until he had been to several piano lessons.

2. Her latent mathematical skills surprised her parents when she began bringing home very high test scores.

3. The car's latent defects did not appear until the warrantee expired.

All these examples refer to qualities or properties (both good and bad) that were always present, but took a while to become noticed.

Semantic

Definition:

Semantic refers to “the meaning, or an interpretation of the meaning, of a word, sentence, or document, and its relationship to other words in the text.” It does not mean the popular antivirus company (that's Symantec™). It is also the study of meaning in language, or even the study of multiple meanings that a single word might have. The semantic aspect of a sentence, paragraph, or article is what it means to the reader.

Examples:

This word is most often used in its plural form “semantics,” as in “Let's not argue over semantics.”

An example of arguing over semantics would be two people discussing the meaning of he word “war.” The first person insists war means the absence of peace. The second person is certain that war means the presence of combat. Both are correct in a sense, but it is like the argument whether the glass is half full or half empty. Both parties are right about the meaning of war, but there is some interpretation involved.

For our purposes, “semantic” refers to the meaning of a word, sentence or document, how the reader interprets them, and the relationships between the words in the text.

Indexing

Definition:

An index is an “an alphabetized list of names, places, and subjects treated in a printed work, giving the page or pages on which each item is mentioned.” It is a tool for organizing printed material so that certain items in that material can be easily found again.

Examples:

The index of a book is an excellent example. If you read a book on internet marketing and wanted to review the information on affiliate programs, the book's index would tell you on which pages the word “affiliate” appeared. You would quickly find the information you need.

Putting It All Together

Latent - refers to qualities or properties that were always present, but took a while to become noticed.

Semantic - refers to the meaning of a word, sentence or document, how the reader interprets them, and the relationships between the words in the text.

Indexing - creating a list or reference for a printed work so that items within the text can be quickly found.

Therefore Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI means a list or reference for printed material containing both the obvious and the hidden meanings and interpretations of the words, sentences, and paragraphs in that material, as well as how the words in the text are related to each other.

Latent Semantic Analysis

The definitions for latent, semantic, and indexing were presented above. All we need is a definition for “analysis.”

Definition

Analysis - a detailed examination of elements or structure.

Examples:

The best examples are the explanations you just read! The acronyms LSI and LSA were just examined. The words corresponding to each letter in the acronyms were determined, as well as the meanings of those words. The meanings of the individual words were then combined into a whole or index containing the author's interpretation of the concepts of LSI and LSA.

Therefore, Latent Semantic Analysis or LSA means an examination of the words, sentences, paragraphs, and the relationships between words in the printed material for obvious and hidden meanings. LSA must occur before the results can be organized and tabulated by LSI.

Why Is LSA and LSI So Important?

LSA and LSI are important concepts because search engines, especially Google, are beginning to analyze online documents using these techniques. Let's restate that: Google and other search engines will be using LSA and LSI to read YOUR web pages!

Therefore you should know and understand what these concepts are. Once you do, you'll be able to write web pages using LSI techniques. That will make the search engines happy with you and your websites. Hopefully that will translate into more visitors and more profits.

In the offline world, LSA and LSI are techniques and concepts developed decades ago for analyzing printed documents. LSA is a technique used in natural language processing in order to analyze the relationships that exist between a specific set of documents, and the terms that are contained within those documents.

This is done by determining a main concept that relates to the terms within the documents, and that relates the documents themselves. Once the LSA is complete, the results are compiled in an index by using LSI. The concepts and procedures are the same, whether online or offline.

Language is no barrier to LSA and LSI. If two sets of documents are written in different languages, they can be analyzed via LSI and catalogued by LSI if one set can be translated to the other set's languages.

The task becomes easier of both sets of documents are written in the same language, which does not necessarily have to be English.

Stay Tuned for Part II. I'll post some more on this subject, and what exactly you need to do to get better listing, more indexed pages in the search engines, and more traffic in one of my other posts.

The New Face of Search Engine Optimization

SEO is a field that changes rapidly, and if you don’t stay on top of it, you could get left out in the cold very quickly. Even search engine...

SEO is a field that changes rapidly, and if you don’t stay on top of it, you could get left out in the cold very quickly. Even search engine marketing professionals often have trouble keeping up with the latest changes, and they must be studying search engine marketing (SEM) constantly in order to stay on top.

For awhile, it was pretty simple to get a top search engine position. You just needed to have more keywords in strategic locations than your competitors. Unfortunately, this made it very easy to game the system, and spammers soon took over most of the top spots on many of the popular search engines.

Finally search engines started penalizing sites for this tactic, and things like keyword stuffing (repeating the same word or phrase over and over, often in invisible text) became a thing of the past. Soon it became more difficult to gain search rankings, because the playing field was leveled.

Google and other search engines started looking at link popularity as a way to determine the quality of a site, figuring sites with a lot of links must be pretty good, because people don’t usually link to really poor sites. This started the era of backlinks, where the only way to get on top was to be the site with the most links.

But link popularity isn’t quite as important as it once was. The newest SEO technology is LSI, or latent semantic indexing. The system is rather complex, but basically it means the search engines look for themes or patterns in order to determine relevancy.

Rather than just checking to be sure you have certain words on your page, it looks for related words. Using LSI, a site about rats might rank for the word “rodent,” even if the word rodent didn’t appear on the page at all!

Although this ultimately means it will be more difficult to trick search engines, it will also make it possible to write better content. Because there will be less focus on actual keywords, you can write to make your visitors happy rather than trying to fit your keywords into your content at a certain density.

Hopefully this will eventually improve both the quality of the search results provided by search engines as well as Internet content itself!

Make Money Fast in Internet Marketing

Almost everyone needs to make some quick cash from time to time, and making money online is certainly easier than many available methods. For this...

Almost everyone needs to make some quick cash from time to time, and making money online is certainly easier than many available methods. For this reason, a lot of people turn to Internet marketing when they need to make money fast.

There are perfectly legitimate ways to make quick money online, but most of them do take time to come to fruition. If you want to make money quickly, you’ll need to stick with the fundamentals, namely providing services or going where traffic is already available.

Almost anyone can find some sort of service they could provide online. For example, writers are in high demand, and you can make money selling articles to websites like AssociatedContent.com or providing custom work for others. You can find work through freelance sites like eLance.com and through various webmaster forums.

If you’re a talented graphics designer, you can also find work easily. Graphics designers are very much in demand for the creation of websites, virtual book covers, banner ads, logos, and many other types of designs.

If you don’t feel you have any special talents that are worthy of selling to others, you’ll have to work on your own. You can make money relatively quickly by promoting affiliate programs via article marketing.

You’ll need to choose an affiliate product with a decent commission, like products from ClickBank.com. Then you’ll write an article related to that product and submit it to EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com, Buzzle.com, and other article directories.

Or, if your writing skills are decent, put together a short report or eBook and list it for sale on your own minisite and promote it to the public. Add it into the ClickBank or PayDotCom marketplace and you could have an army of affiliates helping you bring in easy money each day!

Hi everyone!

I thought it would be nice if someone welcomed you to Markers Space Forum, so a warm hearty welcome goes out to all of you!

I'm hopeing a number of people will add blog entries. Did you know that these are free blogs, and anyone with an account can put their own blog up here without paying extra hosting fees?

This is a great way to get your content indexed quickly.

Just a quick note ...

These blogs are a nice feature and can add much to this community, and build your credibility. In the long run, it will help build PR and better listings too. In return, the links that you do use on them, and in your sig files will count more with the search engines.

The only thing we ask of you is that you not post spammy blogs. If caught, we will delete them. That's a promise. ;)

We want to keep a clean community, and do not want a bunch of advertising on the blogs. A link that leads to your business every now and then is fine. But be sure you don't post affiliate links in the blogs themselves. That's what signature files are for. :)

Other than that, learn lots, and prosper lots!

All the best ...
