How To Market Your New Product

Did you just create a new E-book or software? A lot of people are creating new E-books but the biggest problem they have is they don’t know how to market it. What you need to understand is that if you don’t know how to market your new product, then there really is no point to even make it.

Something that I would highly recommend is before you ever create a product you should first come up with the marketing plan for it. This is something that most people don’t do and that is why they have trouble selling the product that they just spent weeks or even months on. Trust me, you will be better off creating a marketing plan than putting another hour or two into the product itself. When you create a product you can always give updates to it, with your marketing strategy you can’t do this.

How To Market A Product

Facebook Ads

The very first thing that I will do to market my product is to use Facebook ads. The reason I would use Facebook ads before anything else is because they are easy to track, they are cheap, you can customize everything that you need and best of all Facebook has almost a billion people on the site. Did you know that there are almost 500 million people on Facebook each day? This is a huge number and if you can market your product to even a small fraction of that number, then you will be doing really well. Marketing a product will take time but with Facebook that time is cut in thirds because of how much traffic they get.

Twitter Updates

If you have a Twitter account, then you are hopefully doing updates on a daily basis. The nice thing about Twitter is that you can give a little introduction to your product and then a link pointing your following to it. A lot of people use Twitter for the wrong reasons but if you do things right, then you will see some traffic and hopefully sale from it. Just remember that not everybody has a Twitter account and most people don’t use it on a daily basis so you will have to send a few updates at different times to ensure that all your followers see your update.

Emails

Do you have an email list? Do you have a bunch of friends that might like what you have to offer? The best part about emails is that you can send an email to your list as many times as you need to in order for them to see it. What most people don’t realize is that sending somebody an email will be much better than getting them to show up on a site all the sudden because with an email they will know who you are and what you have to offer before even opening it up. This is why using emails is a great way to market a product.

Guest Posts

Another thing that you need to do in order to market your new product is to get other people to know about it and the best way to do this is through guest posts. The nice thing about doing a guest post is that you don’t have to worry about promoting to the same people over and over again. With a guest post you will be promoting your product to people that you don’t know and who probably don’t know you. Doing a guest post is also a great way to show that you are an expert in your field and this will make it a lot easier to sell something to somebody you don’t even know.

Blog

The last thing that I would do to market your new product is to use your personal blog. If you don’t have a personal blog, then it is time that you get one. The best part about using a personal blog to get more sales is that you will probably already have a following and that means that you will be able to turn your following into money. Trust me, using your own blog to promote your new product may seem like too much but your readers want to know about what you have been doing too.

Another thing that you can do if you have a really good product is to enlist the help of affiliates. This is something that is a great source for marketing later on but for right now you should stick to the methods above. Just know that in order to make any money from the product that you just create you will have to market it somehow. My advice is to make sure you are using every marketing technique that you can in order to make the most money in the shortest amount of time.

If you subscribe to any blogs, then you probably already have seen Aweber in action. Aweber is the most popular email services out there and for good reason to. There are a lot of things that bloggers like about Aweber and that is why I highly recommend it.

What I Like About Aweber

Easy To Use

One of the things that I love about Aweber is that they are really easy to use. Most people think that Aweber is tough to use with everything that they offer but it is all of this stuff that makes them one of the simplest to use. I know where are other services out there that say they are the easiest to use (Mailchimp) but the truth is that for bloggers, having more is what makes things easy.

Great Support

Do you have having to try and learn everything on your own? If you have not dabbled with autoresponders before, then you are probably missing out on a lot of stuff and that is why having the support there is a great thing. I am not saying that the other email services don’t have great support but Aweber seems to have more skilled support specialists and that probably has something to do with how big of a company they are.

Many Different Themes

As a blogger you probably have your own theme that you use for your blog and that is great. This is also why I recommend using Aweber because you can now upload your theme as the background of your email. The benefit of doing this is so that your readers will know who the email is from by just looking at it. Trust me, this may not seem like a huge deal but it is to many people.

Affordable

Not only are there a lot of reasons to buy Aweber and all of its features, it is also really affordable. If you have an email list of under 500 people, then it is not that cheap but once you get a list of 1500 or more, then it really starts to beat out the competition. This is probably why Aweber is the autoresponder that most big businesses use because there are better deals once you have a substantial list built.

Great Tracking

The last thing that I want you to know is that Aweber offers some of the best tracking available. With Aweber you never have to wonder how many people read your email, who opened it, when they opened it and how many people clicked the links in the email. With Aweber all the stats are broken down for you so that you can see exactly how effective that email was so that you can make adjustments later on.

Choosing an email service is sometimes difficult but if you ask me, there is nothing difficult about using Aweber as your auto responder and email service. If you want to ensure that you capture as many emails as you can, then Aweber will definitely do this for you. I don’t want to get into all the particulars about Aweber since you have probably already heard about them but just know that if you are not using them, then I would recommend that you at least try them to see how great they really are.

Are you using article marketing to try and get more traffic and more links? This is a common tactic that bloggers use and the reason is because it works, well, when done right it does. Although article marketing works, most people think that it sucks and they think this for good reason. What you need to understand is that most people write articles for the wrong reason, they link to the wrong page and they just don’t do enough marketing.

Article marketing is one of those things that you need to do in order to increase the exposure of your website and if you don’t, then your site is sure to fail. If you want to take your website to the next level, then I strongly recommend that you listen and remember the reasons why your article marketing sucks.

Why Your Articles Suck

Trying To Sell

Have you ever read an article where the person couldn’t hide how bad they were trying to sell you on something? This is what happens with most article marketers, what you need to understand is trying to sell through an article is not how to make a sale. The only way you will ever make your article work for you is by simply trying to be informative. What I highly recommend is that you change your vocabulary so that it doesn’t include any sales words or phrases and make sure that you are not trying to sell the first time somebody is introduced to your writing. Selling is something that is done much faster and easier when somebody trusts you and what you have to say.

Write Bad Articles

Your articles will always suck if you write bad ones. What a lot of people do is they hire somebody else to do their article marketing for them and then they simply submit their work. What you need to understand is that articles need to be written with a purpose and with quality information. If you can’t write articles (or hire somebody to write quality articles), then article marketing is never going to amount to anything.

Don’t Write Enough

How often do you write articles for the purpose of article marketing? If you are only writing 2 articles a week, then you need to write more. My advice is to write at least 1 article per day in order to keep your website growing and gain more traffic. I know that 2 articles per day might be a lot to you but the truth is that if you keep it up you will see the results very soon.

Topic Isn’t Relevant

If you are writing to get people to your website, then writing on a relevant topic is a must. Something that I have seen a lot lately is people putting links in articles that are not even generally related to one another. One thing that you need to understand is that nobody is going to click a link about curling irons if they are there to read an article about pasta recipes. Think about it, would you do that?

As you can see, writing articles is all about connecting with the reader and offering them exactly what they want. Something that a lot of article marketers don’t realize is that you can’t just throw a link to a dog training site at the end of an article about losing weight, it just doesn’t work. Trust me when I say this, article marketing is a skill that anybody can master as long as they put in the time and energy.

Pay per Click marketing is the new way of advertising. It really boomed with the introduction of Google as a search engine and since then we have all been participating in it without even noticing. The way it works is fairly self-explanatory, if someone clicks on your link and goes to your website then you pay ‘x’ amount for getting that customer. There is no be all and end all answer to Pay per Click marketing, just as there is no one way to carry out social media marketing, but there are steps you can take to get yourself on the right road.

       1. Be prepared

Before you embark on Pay per Click marketing it is important that your company is prepared for the traffic. Be sure that you have an adequate data centre and a high quality security system to protect your customers’ personal information.

       2. Have a good offer

Having a good quality and legitimate offer that people will be interested in is the first stage. When a potential customer sees an advert, they will firstly assess whether they are interested and then they will assess whether it is worth it. If either of these requirements is not fulfilled then they will not even click on your advert. Whilst this will cost you no money, it won’t make you money either. By offering a realistic and beneficial offer, you can draw customers onto your site and potentially make multiple sales.

       3. Create a good landing page

There is a simple rule that if a webpage doesn’t load in 10 seconds then the customer will probably has navigated away already. Having a landing page which loads quickly and offers everything that the customer needs and wants will ensure a better success rate. On the other hand, a poor landing page will cause it to be immediately shut down in most cases. Customers are so used to professional webpages that a poor quality one will be disregarded immediately. Here are some things to remember about landing pages:

  • Don’t leak traffic by including links to alternative sites or free elements. This page should provide links to buy items and nothing else.
  • The customer needs to be able to understand the page in less than 3 seconds. Make sure that they have enough information in the first 3 seconds to make sure they know why they are there and what they should do now.
  • Push to sell expensive items because they will be harder to sell. Unless the customer knows what they were looking for when they reach your advert, you will have to sell hard to sell anything over $30 in this manner.
  • Make the sale fast and easy by minimising the effort. If a customer needs to navigate through pages to buy the item then they may leave before they do.

        4. Set up your campaign

The next stage is to set up your campaign. All search engines use pretty much the same format and it comes down to a fact of bidding for the key words that you wish to be connected with your advert. This will take some time to get right but once you do there will be a great potential for income with a small amount of effort.

As a blogger you are probably aware of some of the bigger names in blogging such as Problogger (161,000), John Chow (145,000), Jonathan Volk (64330) but what you probably didn’t know is that they didn’t get their RSS subscribers overnight. All 3 of these guys had to work to get every person on their RSS count and below are some of the things that each one of them did.

If you are ready to increase your RSS subscriber count, then keep reading and see what changes you can make to make this happen. Trust me, it will take some time to establish a huge RSS following but once it is there you can market to them over and over again.

How To Get More RSS Subscribers

Bigger Is Better

When it comes to your RSS feed button you need to use the bigger button possible. This is where you are probably going wrong because you probably only have a small button on the side of your blog. What I recommend is that you get a button that is around 200X200 because then it will be seen. Not only does a bigger button help you get more RSS subscribers, it will blend in well with most other banner ads that people create. If you use a 200X200 Adsense ad at the end of your blog post, then simply add your RSS button to the side of that and it will blend in very nicely.

Above The Fold Is Best

Whenever you want a high click through rate whether it is with an ad or a RSS button, you need to place it above the fold. Studies show that items above the fold will get clicked on roughly 70% more than things below it. If getting more RSS subscribers is your goal, then I don’t see why you would not want the button above the fold so that it gets the most exposure.

Ask For Subscribers

Did you know that simply asking for something is the best way to get it done? If you want more subscribers, then simply ask your readers to subscribe to your RSS feed. Now, you can’t just ask and not give them a reason. What I recommend is that you make it knows that readers don’t have to come directly to your website, they can simply go to their email account and read the posts there. This is a huge advantage to many professionals and I know that without this feature I would not be subscribed to as many RSS feeds as a currently am.

Write A Guest Post

Getting more subscribers is great but getting subscribers from other bloggers is even better. You probably already know about guest posts and how powerful they are but did you know that adding a link on a guest post directly to your RSS feed is very effective. If you can write a great post and offer the reader a lot, then it will be easy to convert that reader into a subscriber. My only recommendation is that you keep up with guest posts so that you always have more subscribers coming in.

A lot of people think that an RSS feed is not important but I can assure you that if you use an RSS feed, a Twitter account, a Facebook page and your actual blog that you will be able to grow your blog faster than ever before. If you want somebody that has certain skills, then Elance will be the best place to go. Now as we both know, you can’t just send out emails to anybody and expect them to read it. The reason email marketing works so well is because you email people that want to hear what you have to say and opted for your emails. I am not going to tell you how to create a huge email list right now, the point of this article is to give you some tips and tricks on what kind of emails to send, when to send them and how to market to your list.

The reason I am not going to tell you how to build your list is because most people know how to do it, they just have not taken action yet. Before I get to the tips and tricks I just want to tell you that email marketing is a skill that you will learn along the way so the sooner you get started, the sooner you hone your skills.

There are a lot of names for this type of email but what they are meant to do is just get a feel for the audience. What you need to do is send out emails to your subscribers asking them different questions, giving them tasks and just getting a feel for what they like. What you don’t want to do is send out an affiliate link right away, you need to reserve this for something that you highly recommend.

Another trick to making your subscribers feel loved is to setup auto responders. The reason this works so well is because you can give your subscribers a certain amount of emails instead of just sending 1 big long one. The reason you do this is to make sure that they don’t just get what they wanted and then op-out. You need to make sure that they are there for the long haul.

Give Away Something

Do you know what keeps people around more than anything else in the world? Free gifts! This is why I highly recommend that you give things away for free. Whether it is free information, sites with free gifts or great deals or just offer a free gift to your most valued subscriber for the month. Whatever it is that you might give away doesn’t really matter, what matters is that you are giving away something that nobody expects.

Stay Connected

The final tip that I have for you is to make sure you stay connected. So many people think that when they build a list they don’t need to do anything with it right away. This is wrong! When you build an email list you need to stay connected to your subscribers so that when you finally do promote something, they will click on it and hopefully buy it. Trust me, you don’t need a huge list but you do need a list of people that will follow you and read your emails.

Email marketing is not as hard as many people make it out to be and that is why so many people fail at it. All you need to know is that if you build your list right, keep in contact with your subscribers and give them something to look forward to, then you will be able to use email marketing to your advantage.
